Logo has released a “supertrailer” for its new reality series, The A-List: New York, from the producers of The Real Housewives of Atlanta. As you can tell from the headline, it’s already causing me to do some serious soul-searching. (Gay men that might not like me? Gay men that I might not like? What?!) Watch it below. The nine-episode series, which premieres Oct. 4, follows “the most envied and sought-after men of New York City as they live the high life hopping from boardroom to benefit to beach house to bedroom.” They include: The Amazing Race winner/actor/model/Lance Bass’ former boyfriend Reichen Lehmkuhl, his Brazilian model boyfriend Rodiney Santiago, renowned celebrity photographer and RuPaul’s Drag Race and America’s Next Top Model staple Mike Ruiz, international model (and Marc Jacobs’ former flame) Austin Armacost, modeling agent Derek Lloyd Saathoff, and ultra-high-end salon owner Ryan Nickulas. I’m in, if only for this swan.

Gay culture is so superficial. Like I really need something else to tell me that I’m not pretty enough, thin enough, toned enough, or rich enough to compete in this world? Isn’t that why we have Out magazine?
I’m kind of joking, but mostly serious. I don’t know why I need to watch a bunch of men who wouldn’t give me the time of day if I ran into them at a club (assuming I could even get into said club). Thanks, but no thanks, Logo.
I completely concur with you!!!!
Eek. I made it through 26 seconds of the trailer before shutting it off. It looks incredibly distasteful, materialistic, and shallow — just a bunch of bitchy glamor pusses who think they’re more important than they actually are. At least the Real Housewives franchise is worth it for the comedy and the ridiculousness. This just seems awful.
>>just a bunch of bitchy glamor pusses who think they’re more important than they actually are.
Exactly …
This is not gay culture. This is the death of culture. These six idiots by no means represent the gay community anymore than the women of Real Housewives represent the female population.
They may not represent gay culture, but Mike Ruiz has some seriously sexy arms.
What a bunch of shallow queens! And they complain about us in LA being phonies. Just what TV needs, more reality show human flotsam.
Sadly, this is why homophobia exists. People believe all gay people are like this and it offends their sensibilities. That’s why it’s so much easier for Hollywood to create characters like Jack on “Will and Grace,” Marc on “Ugly Betty,” etc.
TV portrayals aren’t the only reason why homophobia exists. And there are gay people like that in real life, but they certainly don’t represent all gay people. – I do see your point, though.
What a bunch of vacuous idiots. I kept hoping for one of those missles or alligators or killer sharks Joel McHale adds to Hills clips on The Soup to show up. Oh well.
These guys make Danielle Staub seem relatively okay.
We don’t have people like this in Mypos.
An embarassment to ordinary gay men everywhere! Is it possible to hate people after seeing them for a little over a minute? This clip seems to prove that it is. What a bunch of superficial idiots. Of course I’ll be watching just so that I can mock them.
See, rich white gay dudes can be just as shallow and exclusive as other white folks. This should be called the White Gay A-List.
This has nothing to do with them being white, “Daisy.” Jesus, are you people unable to deal with anything without making it about race?
what do you mean by ‘you people’? It’s just that ONE person’s opinion.
I live in Orlando, and there are quite a few black gays that act like this. Not that it matters because race really shouldn’t matter… So lets not thro.w a specific race “under the bus”
Gay or straight…it’s elitist attitudes like this that make you unattractive. I am sure this will appeal to some people but, just like with the “Real” Housewives series, I will have to pass!!
The saddest thing about all this (other than the fact that an adult man actually goes by Rodiney) is that it’ll probably be a big hit. Anyone who watches this trash is contributing to the death of culture.
Like Queer Duck, I’m as GAY as a GOOSE…but even if I had a million dollars, I wouldn’t want to be associated with this show or any of these people…
Cool! More detestable reality TV. You go, LOGO! (Without me.)
