'Keeping Up with the Kardashians' recap: Three things I learned from last night's episode

KardashiansThere was a whole lotta good TV on last night (The Emmys, True Blood, Mad Men), but I still made time for my favorite little slice of reality TV spongecake, E!’s Keeping Up with the Kardashians. And I’m glad that I did, because last night was not only an enjoyable episode, but it taught me several valuable lessons. Here are the three things I learned from my quality time last night with the Kardashian family…

  1. Kim is really turned off by body hair…and Gerard Butler. Momager, Kris, decides to set Kim up on a date and then asks her, “How about Gerard Butler?” Kim’s harsh (but kinda genius) response is: “How about barf?” Mean but fair, Kim. (Then again, maybe she was slyly telling her mother that her dream man was someone like John Candy’s Barf in Spaceballs? Or maybe I didn’t get enough sleep last night and I’m getting weird?) Instead, Kim decides she needs an Armenian man like her father, but tells her mother he can’t be too hairy. (Well, I guess that rules out Barf.) Says Kim, “Laser hair removal is a necessity.” Cut to our next lesson…
  2. The Kardashian sisters are very encouraging. In an eerily appropriate following segment, Kim invites Khloe to have her first-ever laser hair removal procedure. Most stars probably wouldn’t want cameras around detailing this procedure, but the Kardashian gals are special…and apparently very hirsute. Anyways, back to the lesson at hand: While Khloe is being zapped, Kim lovingly says, “Khloe, you have a better-looking vagina than I thought.” There you go: sisterly encouragement! That’s really important amongst family members.
  3. Bruce Jenner has a gold medal in fixing toilets. Not only is stepdad Jenner an ace athlete, but when the girls need a handyman at their boutique Dash, the former Olympian is also a wiz at fixing the old porcelain throne. He also gave Khloe some dusting tips. Take notes, Evan Lysacek!

Now that all that silly learning is over, here’s a special treat for you Kardashian fans: footage from our shoot with the girls. Pick up the latest EW to read Jeff Jensen’s feature on the business of being a Kardashian on newsstands now!

What did you think of last night’s Kardashians, PopWatchers? Did you find it similarly educational?

I can’t believe my comment went through!

Poor Kim. Holding a grudge against Gerard Butler because he declined to be introduced to her earlier this year. Also ‘nice’ she’s using her show to get back at people.

Being a widowed gyno I’m excited that Kris Jenner has set me up with her daughter. I’m hoping Kim is interested in tall, dark and Jewish. I was concerned about my safety, but I was told that she has a horn that goes off when she “backs that thing up” Kim is due for a relationship/marriage/children, but most important, a spinoff for Fall on E! As long as she continues to embrace laser hair removal, I’m ready to say, “I Do”

Last night’s episode was hysterical. Especially the hair zapping segment. They are doing exactly what I would love to have done but don’t have the money. Glad to see they zapping their pubes too – would love to have sisters to share that with! I am old enough to be their mother but I wish I lived in California and go have drinks with them.

Is it just me that think she has a little some n’t some done with her nose? It looks much smaller, but not bad, consider all her siblings’noses look just like Kris’ nose. As long as she doesn’t over do it like the Jersey housewife, I guess it’s alright then. Enjoy the show, but Khloe is my favorite. Glad that Scott is not on as much. Can’t stand him or his desperate girlfriend, yeah, you, Kourtney!!!

  • Annia

Has she got something done with her nose? It looks longer and thinner, where her mother and her siblings’ noses are short & a bit wide at the tips?

Sounds like Kim is still smarting from Gerry’s refusal to meet her at an event in Sept, 2009.

#4. Mrs. Kardashian has a personality disorder. She acts SO inappropriate, on so many levels. She may not be an idiot, but she certainly acts like one.

  • KK

The girls would be much better off without their mom’s constant meddling. And she can’t act! The whole begging for Khloe’s basketball ticket was ridiculous – she needs to get her own life and act her age.

Gerry is too much man for Kim to handle anyway. Men with body hair, at least look like a man, not some sissy-boy.

  • Lonnie

That’s awesome Kim goes to LaserAway, my sister and I both go there. I asked my friend that works for E the other day where Kim gets her laser hair removal, and told me I would find out soon. The website is laseraway.net if anybody wants to try them out.

She would love to have Gerard Butler in her life…he refussed to be introduced to her. She looks so “foreign” and swarthy for a woman. Without her plastic surgery, she is nothing. ///I really don’t like her looks…and she has no talent in anything. She is heavily supported by Ryan S. of :E!”..and otherwise, she would just be one more shallow woman. Her sisters are even worse…one is plain and the tall one looks like a man! Ugh! I only watched part of one episode..they’re so low-class and sleazy. I’m a big Gerard fan, so my enmity is understandable.

Looks like Kim is getting revenge for
Gerard refusing to be introduced to
her a while back. I mean, really.
    Gerard has everything: charisma,
    charm, intelligence(he has a law
    degree), talent, sensitivity,
    humor, humility, integrity, a
sweet spirit, and he is drop dead
gorgeous. All Kim has is big
boobs and a big arse. Sorry, Kim,
you could never make it in Gerard’s world, you couldn’t carry
on an intelligent conversation with him, so the date wouldn’t last very long.
