Conan and curb your enthusiasm should have won. I like things that are funny. Conan especially should have won. That was one of the worst award shows I have ever seen, Jimmy Fallon is incredibly unfunny (crazy that he is conan’s predecessor).
am I the only one who felt this was a really bad EMMY telecast?
Boring, not all that funny, etc
Why does network TV countiue to show the EMMYs. The EMMY voters only have love for cable shows!! I wont watch the EMMY’s any more after this boring show! The EMMY voters are biased and just want to vote for the same people( yes I am looking at you Cranston and Mad Men) they do not care for the other amazing performances that are on TV.
What kind of idiot doesn’t know who Temple Grandin is? Let me guess — someone who wastes far too much time watching filth such as The Kardashians, the Real Housewives of Whatever, and other such rubbish like that. Hey, morons, turn off the TV and read substantive things every once in awhile. (Sorry, but it grates that people don’t know such an important animal behaviorist who used her autism to better understand the mindset of animals.
I don’t watch those awful reality shows and I didn’t know who Temple was until I saw the HBO movie
Why was George Clooney (whom I love as much as anyone) given a humanitarian award on a show honoring television achievement, when he is clearly a movie star and not known for television work? Just askin’
Little show called “ER”, and was on Roseanne and Facts of Life, all way before he became the big MOVIE star. It was “ER” that put him on the map and led to his movie roles.
Slezak asked what Emmy snubs were we most upset about – I really want to add HBO’s brilliant ‘Treme’ to the list. When the nominations were announced, I assumed – like many others – that Treme was too late in the season to be considered. But it was nominated for directing, so clearly it was in contention for awards. It’s right up there with the best shows on TV right now (heck, its metacritic.com score is 87!). Shame – hope this is rectified in the future. In the meantime, if you haven’t seen it – check out the show; I found it riveting.
Random thought this morning — I was glad for Colbert’s mention of “Bosom Buddies.” I still find it amazing that that show (which I watched regularly back in the day) was Tom Hanks’ first big role. And people rarely mention it.
