The USA Today broke the news yesterday and Dimension Films confirms that the True Blood star and Veronica Mars will join the franchise’s holdovers Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox, David Arquette, as well as new characters played by Emma Roberts, Hayden Panettiere, and Adam Brody in director Wes Craven’s new frightfest.
But will the recently-announced additions play major roles, or will they be sacrificial lambs of the Drew Barrymore variety (which, in turn, was an homage to Janet Leigh’s demise in Psycho)? Would Scream 4 dare kill Sookie or Veronica off in the first 10 minutes?

Or they might play cameos as stars who are vying to play Sydney in the next film within film of the Scream franchise.
Kristen Bell will hopefully have a role like Sarah Michelle Gellar. And i hope the other chick plays a small rebecca gayheart role. She was the worst choice for rouge and she ruins true bloode. Bring CICI and TATUM Back from the dead Wes!

from what I’ve heard, Emma and Hayden are some of the main characters.
and from what I’ve heard they’re going to be in the sequels too…I’d rather have Kristen and Anna in the sequels though
Well Drew pulled a Janet Leigh and it worked, so I think Anna and Kristen can pull a Drew.
Emma seems to be the main character (like Neve Campbell’s character in the original), so she’ll probably live. But Hayden is her best friend in the movie (like Rose McGowan’s character in the first film), so she could end up getting killed.
They should defy conventions and kill the “Lead” girl toward the end and have the focus shift to the best friend surviving.
Drew Barrymore was the best known actress in Scream and we all know what happened to her.
Yeah, she got rich and famous as it resurrected her career.
Actually in movies like this, with pretty well-known ensamble casts, the less famous people/younger people often have the bigger screen time (they have to work more for their pay)
I was already gonna see it, out of loyalty to the original, which I’ll never stop loving, but now I’m actually going to be excited. This is very good news. I can’t decide which one I’m happier about, either. Kudos to the casting agent.

Same. Not to mention Adam Brody and Alison Brie – love both of them. If I had my wish, Hayden Whatever would be the sacrificial lamb in the opening, but even if she’s not, the rest of the cast more than makes up for her presence. Can’t wait for this!

I never used to like Horror films s sad to say I still haven’t seen 1-3 but I will have to now. So many amazing actresses all in my backyard! I never thought I would see the day when this many stars would be in Michigan. I will have to go walk by the set now!

They’re either the one’s who die early on in the movie, or one or both of them are the killers, who only show up a few random shots thru-out and then majorly right at the end??? it’s possible..
LOVE. IT! Either one of these fine ladies could only add to the excellent tradition set by Drew Barrymore, Jada Pinkett Smith and Liev Schreiber. Awesome!
well technically Liev Schrieber was in all 3 movies. but I get your point, the opening kills are pretty awesome
