'Big Brother' Is Britney spearing the right subjects?

I’m not sure what was more disturbing tonight: Lane’s bizarre taunting of a 300-plus pound barbell or Ragan, a man who has a PhD I might add, saying a Rachel-inspired drink would actually be made of “silicone, nasty hair extensions, and just a dash of chin acne.” Now, I did a little jig when Rachel was voted off too, but his hostile remarks have just gone a little too far. Of course, I feel for the guy. Ragan is going to have to reassess every acquaintance he ever thought was a good person after he rewatches this season. He basically thinks Matt, one of the slimier contestants this show has produced, is the second coming. On the plus side, his tears finally worked in his favor during the Have-and-Have-Not competition.

But let’s talk about what all of us not living in another time zone are thinking about: Did Britney nominate the right people? If you haven’t seen the show, there are spoilers ahead so now’s a good time to read about Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer’s wedding. Okay. I think Enzo was a fine choice and her excuse/reasoning (rather, Matt’s excuse/reasoning) that he’d never been on the block was perfect. But Brendan? The guy has no friends in the jury house except for Rachel and has no allies inside the house. Why vote him out? And even if you do want him out, back door him! Now a guy who’s proven himself to be a strong competitor will play for the power of veto. If she hadn’t put him up, he might not have played for the veto and every single other person would have used the veto, paving the way for the perfect back door scenario. Silly Britney. In the end, I’m hoping a brigade member goes home and I have to assume that Matt, the self-described “diabolical genius” will see that Enzo leaving (assuming he doesn’t win the veto) is the only wise move. What did you all think? Did Britney mess up? Will you have nightmares about Britney’s tiara photo tonight or will you, like Matt, be dreaming of a shirtless Hayden? But before you go off to snooze-land, don’t forget to check out the hilarious Dalton Ross and his interview with Kathy in the video player below.

The backdoor was set up perfectly for Brittany to use. All she had to do was put up Hayden and Enzo! I love her to death but I hope this doesn’t lead to her demise on Thursday’s Double Eviction

    • Rachel Hater

Uh, people HATE being around Brendon and this house does not think or play strategically…its been personal right from the start.

      • Michael

I agree. They vote like sheep. There’s little to no strategy. Even Matt, the self-proclaimed genius of the house, has made noms more personal than strategic. It would be hard for true game players to play this game. Fortunately, there are no true game players in the house. No strategy whatsoever.

      • darclyte

Yep, taking Brendon to the Final 2 would almost guarantee a win for the other person. He’s reviled like Dr Will, but not respected like he was. No matter how many things Brendon wins, to the HGs it’s not that he’s a good player but that he’s a cockroach who they just can’t kill.

      • Nakomis 666

Not only is Brendon the obvious person to take to the final two, if they vote him out, he and Rachel will vote as a block, and do everything they can to get the other jurors to see it their way. Evicting Brendon ensures that 28.5% of the votes will be for the person that they feel played the game fair and hard – I say hard, because it is really important to Brendon for someone to be a competitor. If I could get to the Final 2 right now, I’d love to be sitting next to Brendon.

    • sharon

But then she’d have both Hayden and Enzo hating her. She’s trying to be popular with this choice

      • CraigJ

I do agree that Brendon is the one you probably want to take with you to the end. However, Brit didn’t want to make more enemy’s in the house and Brendon chances of playing in the veto this week, even if he wasn’t nominated, are extremely high. Aren’t they to the point this week were everyone, minus one person, will play the veto? Since it’s a random draw he could be picked as easily as anyone to play. I think Britney did it right this week especially if Enzo or someone else from the Brigade( minus Matt I hope) gets sent packing. Trying to backdoor Brendon at this point in the game is near impossible. I think Brit, Matt and Ragan will figure out they need him to form a new alliance to beat the Brigade, with and if Matt changes his alliances knowing he is at the bottom of the Brigade.

      • Zach

Too bad Matt and Britney aren’t as smart as Craig here.

    • zeezee

Britney is not the smartest person in the house – by far – and not exactly the greatest person in house. She is, however, the most annoying and irritating and I would rather have Rachel back…

      • Teresa

        Brit for the win!!!

      • nomoretrolls

More annoying than Ragan and Matt?

    • lukesassypants

I would use the backdoor on Britney.

      • Doremifah Solatido

        I’d rather use Britney’s backdoor.

      • Nakomis 666

        Me, too.

    • SLB

Hell yeah!!! Finally get that lying scumbag Matt out.

  • goose

its not a true backdoor since they pick names out of a bag, so it doesn’t matter, Brendon would have gotten picked. 7 ppl in house and 6 play, so the odds are he’d be picked.
LOVED Lane. i can watch Lane’s DRs all day.

    • JoeMac

Yes, odds are he gets picked, but if he doesn’t win the Veto it gets used and he goes up. If he does win the Veto Brittany would have kept her word to him and had one less person coming after her

      • UsualSuspects

Wait, Joe Mac, Britney promised not nominate him…so her word was broken…it has not one thing to do with the veto

    • Butterscotch

I, too, find Lane to be the BB comic relief in his non-toilet/fart jokes ah schucks Texas good ole boy way. He’s a natural funny man, finding the most humorous ways to dsescribe the most mundane. Not my fav to win, just my fav to laugh at/with.

    • Rachel Hater

Exactly. Brendon would have played for veto anyway. I LOVE Lane and his hilarious comments though I hope he is kidding with the “redneckisms” like knocking the prettiest girl in the bar’s bf out.

      • Saucy Jack

Lane’s an inbred hillbilly who shoots animals for no reason other than to just shoot them. Way to go CBS. Now this will encourage every slack jawed, mouth breathing cro-magnon to try it.

      • UsualSuspects

Damn right, Saucy Jack! Can’t understand why anyone would find this idiotic neanderthal funny?

      • CraigJ

Lane is a total redneck and if he and his friends really go and and get drunk and got shooting at whatever “whites of the eyes” they see in the dark, then he is a piece of shiznit. Plus, what an arsehole to want to go the bar, find the prettiest girl there and beat up her boyfriend. It could just be his sense of humor, but if those are really things he does and feels good about then he is an awful, awful person. Also, what’s up with Britney’s family do they not like her fiance? They didn’t seem to have any problem with her hooking up with Lane. What a double standard for Big Bro when a few weeks ago Kristen was regarded as having lack of morals when she cheated on her b/f with Hayden. I realize Britney hasn’t cheated yet, but come on she has a fiance! I don’t think you should go in the house with a fiance, put the relationship on hold, go into the house, see what happens, and then decide when your time is over in the house what to do with your relationship. I just think it would be better to have hook ups without the effect of ruining a current relationship. Stay single and do whatever you want without hurting other people. I have no problem with Matt’s lies since that is what it takes to do good on this show and you know that going into it. Don’t trust anyone. Expect the unexpected. Don’t play this game so personally. People get screwed over everyday in the real world and they aren’t playing for a game for a million dollars. Hell yes, Ragan is going to have to take a much closer look at the people he trusts in the future. A lot of people, lie, cheat, steal, backstab and they aren’t playing Big Brother it’s called life. That crap happens all the time. Don’t fully trust other people. There is almost always a hidden agenda.

    • Al

Brendon may have played veto, but may not go all out if he felt Britney was keeping her deal.

    • AJ

The question is, why didn’t “diabolical genius” Matt point this out to Britney when she suggested that he had the best chance of winning veto?

      • UsualSuspects

Frankly, I Matt who seems to see himself as a genius screwed up his own noms. I figure if you are willing to subject yourself to playing this game for 3 months for a lousy 1/2 (which after taxes is way less)you are probably both a narracist and unemployeed. The quality of the contestants have gone down hill ever since season 2. That was my favorite season cause there was actual game play and the best puppet master ever, Dr Will. This cast sucks but so have the last 3 or so. Bummer, since BB is still a guilty pleasure for me but I no longer even follow the BB sites cause I really don’t care who is on the block, who won veto or who actually wins this year.

  • Hey

Britney spearing? Was that headline a trick so people would thing this was about Britney Spears? I fell for it..

    • Joe

      You’re an idiot.

  • zhangkuan709

    nice

  • Tom Brazelton

Britney constantly running to Matt for advice on who to put up and how to explain it away proved to me she has no game. Or at least no spine. Britney runs hot and cold for me. Sometimes I find her commentary hilarious. But as the game progresses, I’m convinced my original assessment of her character was correct. She’s shallow, she’s cruel and she’s all talk. She’s like some kind of terrible high school prom queen cliche.

    • lori

Like all evil dwarves, Matt uses his manipulative power over silly little girls (Ragan and Britney)

    • JasonHomey

I am no fan of Rachel, but everything you needed to know about Britney came during an early scene during week 1 or 2 where she sat there ripping all the people in the house while sitting there with that girl who got voted out second week. Shes catty, shes the spoiled prom queen. But at least she finally looked hot in that one outfit last night.

    • Doremifah Solatido

Anyone who wears a tiara is a dumbass tw*t that deserves to be molested for hours before she make me breakfast. Just sayin’.

      • kahuna

        LOL. Shut up. ;)

      • IfTheShoeFits

Anyone who says something like that is clearly a misogynist jerk with real issues about breakfast. Just sayin’.

  • Lisa

I want Enzo and the dumb brigade gone. they all act as if they control everything when the only brains in the bunch was matt. go home already

    • lori

Yes, but who would you want to win instead? If you say vicious queen Ragan you have lost all my respect.

      • Guido Pomegranate

And you respect is something that everyone covets.

      • Todd

Here is my problem, i actually dislike everyone from this entire season. I think i am pulling for Brendon, only because he is basically playing by himself and it would be great to see the rest of the house have to complain every week about him still being there. Even if he can just survive this week, then at least it may be interesting to see him come after Britney.

    • cathy

I so agree with you. Enzo runs around backstabbing more than anyone and yet now that he’s on the block, he has the worst attitude of anyone so far. He comes across as so self entitled it’s sickening. Used to like him till his arrogance made me want to puke. Oh yeah I record the after dark shows and he has the foulest mouth and constantly keeps his hands down his pants playing with himself in front of everyone. Nasty!!!

      • dacky1

        SPOILER ALERT:
I get Showtime afterdark too and it gives a better pic of whats really going on there.
Brendon won POV and now Britney has to pic his replacement. In the POV competition it was a point based comp with people buzzing in on what they would give up or get by adding and subtracting points.
Brendon had to shave his head, immerse himself in chum every hour for 24 and be handcuffed to Britney for the same period. Hyden, Lane, and Matt got vacations, money etc…In other words they couldn’t care less ’bout winning it. Enzo has to wear a penguin costume for a week.
Brendon deserves to be in final 2. I would put Britney there too. The rest are backstabbing azzholes with no redeeming qualities.

I’m gay but I gotta say Ragan turns my stomach. I think he’s a manic-depressive egotist with insecurity issues. He shouldn’t have gone off on Rachael with such personal venom- it was uncalled for.

But its equally disturbing Enzo- that lazy azz and Brendon talking smack about how they’d like to smack him around.
I’m not really crazy about any of these celebrity wannabes.

  • Rrob

I think Matt really found everyones true colors when they told him they were going to send him home last week. Now he wants revenge and Brittney is an easy person to persuade. I think she should have put up Enzo and Matt and then back doored Brendan if necessary, but i think brendan is someone to have on your side since he has no allies in the house. I think Brittney made the wrong move.

    • Karyn

I don’t think Britney made the wrong move.Who cares if Brendan has know one in the house he should have tought
about that when he couldn’t make a decision without rachael. He should have been a little bit more kinda to Britney and Ragan when rachael was in the house.

      • Joshua

Karyn, you’re letting your utter dislike for the person effect your thoughts on strategy. You simply don’t like Brendan, so you want him gone. “who cares”? The houseguests should care. You want to make it to the end, and pick someone to go with you that NO ONE in the Jury house will vote for. That is why Brendan should be kept in the house.

      • Michelle

Yeah…Brendon should’ve been as nice to Britney/Ragan as they were to him. LOL. Seriously, I don’t really get all the hate for Brendon. Sure, he was an a-hole with Rachel, but, ahem, Britney isn’t exactly going to win the “nicest person of the year award”. She’s the worst kind of mean. She talks about people endlessly behind their backs and no one has been spared.

      • Mike

Here is what everyone in the house isn’t realizing. Some juries have taken personal bias out of it (Dr. Will, season 2). There is a strong possibility Brenden can win this game, believe it or not.

      • Todd

@Mike I would agree that sometimes juries can take the personal aspect out of the vote. However, for this particular cast, everything has been personal, including nominations. Somehow I doubt that these people will be able to separate personal feelings from game play in the final vote.

      • katie

However I heard or read somewhere that Enzo Matt and Hayden have said that if Brendon made final 2 they might have to vote for him since the odds have been against him. Not sure if they meant what they said though. hmmmm

    • AJ

Matt should have seen the Brigade’s true colors long before they decided to choose Lane over him. He has always been the fourth guy to them. The other guys talk around him like he’s some sort of tag-along little brother. He thinks he’s a supergenius, but he’s just as dumb as the rest of the group.

      • UsualSuspects

Mike this is really no season two and the chance of these people rewarding good game play when it’s all been personal is next to nil. Plus, I don’t think Brendon played a good game isolating himself in his showmance so no way, brother, no way

      • katie

I don’t think it started that way until he started pairing off with Ragan and haging with him more than them…

  • gabilu

The live feeds and what they show on tv is ridiculously different. I’m no fan of any HG but Matt is not as evil as they portray him to be. I can’t wait to see Brit’s face when she realizes she got played by Enzo, Hayden, and specially Lane!

  • Evil Will

I kinda figured she’d put up Brendon. Was hoping Matt and Enzo would go up on the block. Would be great to see ENZO gone. He’s a dork. But Lane… is hilarious.

    • lori

Enzo is quite disgusting and seeing him under strong lighting is really turning my stomach each week. He’s like a 58 yr old man trapped in a jobless 30 yr old’s body…..

      • karyn

        I agree.

  • Gerard

First of all, I am getting really sick of Ragan. I liked Rachel and Ragan at the beginning, but now Ragan constantly talking smack is getting on my nerves. His fake tears and his excitement about Matt staying was making me sick. Anyways, I like Brittany, but I hope Brendon stays. I agree that it was a dumb move for her to put Brendon up because he has no friends in the house or the jury really. She should have put Enzo and Hayden up to start getting rid of the Brigade even though it looks like the Brigade is not going to survive together much longer.

    • T

I agree. Ragan needs to go.
Im not enjoying watching him on tv.

      • Jureesverdict

Perez hilton was bashing Rachel for what she asked Ragan during her 24 hr stint in the house, about does he have to act like such a bitch cuz he’s gay. I’m osrry but Ragan, you’re making gay people look bad, and reinforcing negative stereotypes. Plus, the fact that he’s getting played by everyone makes me think twice about him!

      • nomoretrolls

I’m gay and I had no problem with what Rachel said to Ragan. She didn’t rag on him for being gay. She ragged on him for being obnoxiously gay. Some people are just natural stereotypes and can’t help it, but Ragan seems to strive to be a cliche. Maybe he thinks that’s his only option seeing as how he is one fugly dude.

      • mostboringseasonever

Ragan is just about the most obnoxious gay guy I’ve ever seen on television. I’m more concerned that this guy teaches school.

    • D

I couldn’t stand Brendan with Rachel but with her gone, he has no alliance so he’s no threat right now.

The smart move is to bring Brendon on over to the Brigade to replace Enzo when he leaves. They need someone to win the competitions for them, since Matt chose his side of the house this week when he convinced Britney to put Enzo up.

And yes, Lane is hilarious in his DR sessions! Go LANE!

      • kahuna

Hayden and Lane might align with Brendon. They’re already saying that because Brendon has had the hardest struggle to stay in the game, they would vote for him in jury. So for everyone who’s saying that Brendon is a safe bet to take to f2 because nobody likes him…umm, you’re wrong. People do feel for the underdog. People will vote for him just because of the drubbing he’s been taking from brittany and ragan.

  • wakeforce

I knew Brendon would go up and since I know too much, I’ll keep it at that. Ragan may have scored some points for telling off Rachel, but he really is a poor judge of character, and an even worse drama queen. I can’t imagine any man putting up with him!

  • T

Is it just me or the only decent person left in this house is Brendon ?
He seems like a normal, kind, down-to-earth guy.

    • Tom Brazelton

His behavior is probably the least extreme compared to others in the house. But I can’t discount his first 5 weeks of game play. His devotion to Rachel is clearly misguided.

      • Lisha

I agree the only person that I can even stomach in the house is Brendan. Britney, Ragan, and Matt need to go. I can’t wait for all the HG’s to find out Matt has been lying from day one..What will Ragan think of his buddy then? Did you see him say Matt is the one person who needs the money because his wife Stacy has a terminal illness…What a stooge, he has a PHd, yea right, what’s it in,STUPIDY???Can’t wait for him to go…Everytime I se Brit poicking her lips, or Matt with his hands in his pants, or hear Ragan talk, I wanna throw up!!!!!

      • Javabooknut

The one thing I can say is that at least Brendon & Rachel were honest and up front. They played stupid at times but they also played hard and won competitions. They made big moves and didn’t just do what the rest of the house does. Rachel was mean to people’s faces. Brittany and Matt are backstabbers. Brittany makes fun of people for pretending to like Brendon’s HOH room but did the same thing when Rachel was HOH. Rachel is probably fun in real life outside pressure of BB, whereas I think Brittany is a gossipy back stabber out for herself wherever she is.

      • Mills

Rachel and Brendon “honest and up front?” Are you kidding me? They lied and backstabbed their way to the top. Rachel went after Monet just because she didn’t like her. Rachel lied to the houseguests about Kristin. She lied about everything. She was mad because Kristin and Hayden kept their shomance on the DL instead of throwing it in everyone’s faces, like she and Brendon did from the beginning. Brendon is an obsessive bully. Take heed from his ex, who was interviewed. He is an insecure little boy who needs to be the hero and will NEVER accept responsibility for being a bully, as he did each time Rachel waded in over her head in a battle of wits with Ragan and Kristin. I love Britney’s commentary, along with Lane’s, but the only person with any integrity in that house is Hayden.

    • Anna

I think you may be mistaking Brenden’s clean cut good looks for normal, decent and kind. To me he’s a powder keg of barely suppressed rage and hostility. It always seems to be sitting right there, just under the surface, waiting for the inevitable match.

      • Jureesverdict

I think even though Rachel and Brendon can be annoying – they are what made this season interesting, and they seem to be the most genuine people. Rachel acts how she is in real life and I respect that – unlike Britney & Lane who are trying to put on a show for America.

      • SLB

Genuine? Are you freaking kidding me? She’s about as genuine as her boob, lips, and hair.

      • amgarcia7714

“Seems to be…waiting for the inevitable match” those are terrible word to say publicly about someone you don’t even know. Are you claiming psychic poweres because Brendon has done nothing to show what you describe.

      • IfTheShoeFits

Brendon has real anger issues and just let Rachel run the show. He has a basic need to just fit in so he can survive with whatever group he wants to please…I do think he’s a strong physical competitor, though.

Am wondering, too, if Ragan will be as upset about Matt’s lying and betrayal as he has been about everything else? He has put so much faith in Matt and everytime I see Matt look at the camera and roll his eyes I just want to choke the liar. Ragan may be a drama queen, but Matt is a snake.

      • carol

i look at showtime after dark, and yes how nasty is enzo, his hands stay in his pants playing with his balls and other.and i can,t get over how the other boys just sit there and watch.enzo,s wife must be so proud.and britney will she wash already, all she does is pick at her legs, hands, hair, chewing her nails, good lord what is the child got.and if i hear the brigade say one more time,oh we have to step up and win this time.and win nothing,i am going to scream.

    • Karyn

I think it just you. Brendon is that decent
have you been watching Big Brother?

    • jared4ever

The only reason he seems kinda decent now is because he has no game left. He just looks like a big moron trying to make deals with people he and Rachel hated openly for so long. The guy is a tool He needs to go.

      • SANDY M LEWIS

I agree … the sooner the better ..

      • allie

Um, he has game left…. wait until Wednesday and you’ll see his “game”.

    • kpet

For lack of a better word, Brendon is just pathetic. But it’s great comic relief to watch him talk about ‘his girl’ and look like he’s about to cry.

    • deanie

He may be normal, but I think he changes his personality depending on who he is hanging around with. His common sense has never been there or he wouldn’t have put up with Rachel or believed anything in the house anyone said.

He seems like a nice guys without Rachel, but was to easily influenced by her.

  • suz

    I miss Rachel!

    • DB

seriously right? the house is so boring that we get almost forty minutes of filler with Lame’s 300lb bench press and strange dream talk. I’m a bit disappointed with Britney’s lack of self reliance as HOH. Brenden totally didn’t go after her last week, she could form a good ally with him, but i guess it’s much easier to peace the rest of the house.
now, Enzo is getting more annoying by the minute. funny how he thinks people wronged him when he was the one playing to get Matt out and wanted to go after Britney last week! sure, the house guests might not have seen the footage, but we sure did!

      • Jureesverdict

LOVE Rachel!! The greatest part ever is that all those ppl in the house who hate her will eventually see how she is the only person on this season that has potential to use her 15 mins to transition into a showbiz career. No one else would be able to in my opinion.

      • Tom Brazelton

Yeah, but a certain amount of filler is to be expected as there are fewer remaining house guests. Plus, it was a Sunday show. Nothing interesting ever happens on the Sunday shows.

    • SANDY M LEWIS

      I miss russell .. oh , wrong show ..

      • Ms KSwiss

        LOL…too funny

  • wakeforce

Ragan is such a drama queen, I can’t imagine any man putting up with him!

    • Anna

I wonder if what we’re seeing is the real Ragan. Right now he seems to have devolved into this caricature of what he thinks the Prince of the Gay Pride Mardi Gras ought to be.

      • Tego Livi

We’re not seeing the real anyone–that’s the main raison d’etre of Big Brother. These people are bored, sequestered, often sleep-deprived, malnourished, etc. It makes them paranoid and short-tempered. Then, they are also playing for the camera. If the “experiment” lasted longer, or if they weren’t receiving a large cash prize (and assorted other prizes), “Big Brother” would go down in history as an evil experiment in psychological torture. Instead, it’s a game show.

      • Kenny

I don’t understand why anyone points out this stuff, isn’t it obvious now that Big Brother put stereotypes in the house? And not subtle ones:
        Andrew – The Jewish Guy
        Lane – The Redneck
Enzo – Take advantage of Jersey Shore popularity
Kathy – “I’m going to relate this competition to being a cop!”
        Matt – Well, he’s just a douche
        Rachel – The Bimbo
        Hayden – The Jock
        Brendon – The Lost Puppy
        Rachel – The Popular Girl

Andrew, Enzo, Lane especially, these aren’t subtle stereotypes.

    • lori

Gay men on reality shows fall into two camps: adorable (Reichen from AR, Spencer from Survivor) or hideous shrieking queens (Ragan, that idiot last season on BB, Ryan Seacrest)

      • jared4ever

Has BB ever had a serious gay contender on this show? I mean a gay dude who wasn’t a silly or bitchy queen? There are lots of us out here. Physical competitors who aren’t always breaking down in tears or attaching ourselves to a stronger player all the time. BB perpetuates this really dated version of gay men who are frankly, pretty embarassing to watch.

      • AliB

LoL at including Ryan Seacrest as one of those “hideous shrieking queens”

      • Ms KSwiss

        So True….

      • hockeybear

Not really. Bunky from BB2 was a little flamboyant (crying and all) but definitely not the gay stereotype. BB needs to cast more bears.

    • marcia ribera

wHAT ABOUT STUDENTS ADMIRING AND RESPECTING HIM? oH MY GOD!

Good calls Jessica. Once Brittany won HOH I immediately thought the logical thing for her to do would be to backdoor Brendon (in the proper sense of the word, NOT the incorrect way it was being used in earlier weeks). Going after Brendon makes no long-term game sense. It’s just a way to avoid conflict or having to make any tough decisions that the HOH fears will upset the house. So Brit’s noms were both dumb AND cowardly.

If she was as good at this game as she thinks she is, then she would’ve kept her deal with brendan and backdoored him and acted like it was her only other option after initially keeping the agreement.

No, if she was really as good as she thinks, she would have not put up Brendon, told the others it was to try to backdoor him, then hope that he or someone not on the block won the veto so she could leave him safe, and give him the idea that she was aligning with him. She’s another idiot, and once Brendon’s gone, she’s outta luck.
