Michael J. Fox to guest on 'The Good Wife'

michael-j-foxImage Credit: Paul Hawthorne/Startraksphoto.com; Eike Schroter/CBCProving that we do actually get excited about more than the Alicia-Peter-Will love triangle, allow us to share this news about season 2 of CBS’ The Good Wife: Michael J. Fox will guest star in an episode as Simon Canning, a shrewd and cynical litigator whom Alicia (Julianna Margulies) faces in a massive class action. Per CBS, “Canning is willing to use anything in court, including symptoms of his neurological condition, to create sympathy for his otherwise unsympathetic client: a giant pharmaceutical company.” Can’t wait to hear the strategy talk on this one. Already hoping he’ll recur like Martha Plimpton’s Patti Nyholm did in season 1?

That’s you, drops of water. And you’re on top of the mountain of success. But one day you start sliding down the mountain and you think wait a minute, “I’m a mountain top water drop, I don’t belong in this valley, this river, this little dark ocean with all these drops of water.” Then one day it gets hot, and you slowly evaporate into air, way up higher than any mountain top. All the way to the heavens. Then you understand that it was at your lowest that you were closest to God. Life’s a journey that goes round and round and the end is closest to the beginning. So if it’s change you need, relish the journey.

I think I speak for most of us when i say “…huh?”

      • Ceballos

I believe it’s the voiceover for the trailer from the Joaquin Phoenix “documentary” “I’m Still Here.”

Sure, its inclusion here still doesn’t make sense, but that’s what that is. I’ll now join you in saying “huh?”

News about my favorite show just getting better and better– what a year to look forward to!
LOL, thanks for the message, but this is not the place for such lessons of wisdom, so please look for another message board.

      • LOL

Mr Fox is all about spreading the message.

…and the 2011 Emmy for Best Guest Actor in a Drama goes to…

    • Jethro

You mean the pity award goes to Michael J. Fox.
He doesn’t need to work, he likes the publicity when he guest stars in a show.
Why does everyone fuss over him?

      • because he’s a wonderful actor?

      • Rock Golf

My understanding was that he does need to work occasionally to keep up his SAG benefits.

      • Rock Golf

And as stated above, he’s a terrific actor.

      • ZakThor

Why do you assume people pity him? Spin City was a hit show before his diagnosis…in fact the show only lasted two seasons without him. I have no pity for him because he has Parkinsons…I’ve enjoyed the work he has done despite not knowing about his disease. The only people that “pity” him are those that haven’t seen or heard about his body of work.
It’s an unfortunate circumstance what has occured to him, but realize he’s doing something remarkable! Acting for a tv show requires 12-16 hour days for a week for one episode.
I imagine the reason you wrote that remark was to be incendiary. You want to rile people up. Hopefully, thats not the case.

      • Donna

What a ridiculous comment. We “fuss over” him because he has given us years of great acting.

      • Katrinka

Jethro, I hope you don’t dive head first into the cement pond when it isn’t full of water. Granny won’t be able to fix your broken noggin’.

      • Anna

Jethro – go back to the hills!! Acting is in MJF’s blood, plus I’m sure doing something you love doing has got to be good therapy – for the mind if not the body!!!

      • Dano HI 50

Jethro, may the bird of paradise fly up your nose Sir

  • Martin Haro

  • Liz

Yeah, love him!! And that show is so great! Good for him, heck, good for us! :)

    • Jethro

Mr. Fox was over-rated in the 80s and now in the 2000s. He loves the publicity!

      • rush limbaugh? is that you? shouldn’t you be snorting some oxys and banging underage thai boys?

      • Donna

        “Jethro” is it? That’s fitting.

      • Dano HI 50

Jethro, may the bird of paradise fly up your nose, good day to you

  • Madd

    Two of my favorite things!!

  • Big D

    Looking forward to it.

  • Justin

Michael J. Fox! I have been watching one of my all-time top 10 movies, “Back To The Future”. MJF is the man!!

  • Standing Still

One of the freatest actor’s of all time and on top of that dedicated over 18 years of his life and hard earned money to help people and children with parkinson’s and trying to promote stem cell to cure other! yeah he’s a bad guy and a horrible actor….My @$$!

  • donner

I love this show…and I’m not a drop of water..

  • Michelle

Good for him; and for TV.

  • Em

Mandi, gotta love your blessed W/A shipping heart. You managed to bring them up here as well, apropos to nothing.
And on topic, I love MJF. He may get to spread the word about neurological conditions via TGW.

  • backwoods

i believe it takes a lot of courage to continue acting when you are struck with a condition which leaves you somewhat less than 100% of your born abilities. It’s called adapting

  • ml

I think Michael J Fox has talent. I think is he will do justice to his character. I agree with Em. I think this is a great opportunity for getting the word out for Parkinson’s and other neurological conditions.

People need to remember that He (Michael J Fox) has a disability, the disability is not who he is.

He is a smart person with friends, family, and fans who wish him success.
