'Dylan Dog: Dead of Night' trailer: Do not touch the face!

Having not read the Dylan Dog comic book series, I can’t comment on whether the film, starring Brandon Routh as the “ace detective of the undead,” looks like a solid adaptation. I can just say that as Routh’s Dylan Dog fights to keep order between the worlds of vampires, werewolves, humans, and zombies, I hope they all respect the beauty of that face and leave it the way they found it. Also, watching the trailer (below), the body shop scene gave me a Beetlejuice vibe, while the vampire¬†baddie Taye Diggs plays led me to believe that he really wanted to be in the Buffy the Vampire Slayer movie (the graveyard has a similar feel, no?) and TV series but wasn’t clever enough. That said, they had me at the shirtless shot.

Is this a joke? It looks awful, the makeup is horrid.

wow. what a horrible trailer. if you want to see a great trailer, check out love and other drugs, aka my most anticipated movie of the year.

    “Now in Post Production.” WTF?!

Though I realize this movie isn’t exactly meant to be 100% serious, it still looks pretty terrible. They kinda lost me when Routh beat up Teen Wolf at the start of the trailer.

sucks that Brandon Routh has to do Syfy original movies now. it sucks for me that i had to endure 2:12 of trash just to see a second of Brandon Routh shirtless.

I like Brandon Routh and it didn’t take a shirtless shot (although I’m not complaining). I just wish not every comic had to be turned into a movie – good, bad, or indifferent. Its getting a little old.

Now in post production most likely means that it’ll be released direct to DVD and not in the theaters.

Oh, I realize what it means…it’s just that I’d never seen that before. Usually, a trailer will end with “Coming Soon” or “Coming to DVD” or “Summer 2011″…”Now in Post Production” was a new one for me.

Still, it didn’t make me chuckle as much as “From the director of TMNT” (Like that’s something to get excited about.)

This movie was made almost two years ago and it’s still in post production? Yep direct to dvd trash heap followed by Syfy Channel crapfest of the week.

    this looks beyond awful.

From what I could see the Vampire makeup looked like a total rip off of Buffy vampires.

I loath Brandon Routh. He ruins everything he touches.

I may have to check the source material… but it seems quite similar to the Dresden Files (books, not the TV show), though not as clever. This honestly looks like a B movie…
