Someone invited Kate Gosselin to the Emmys?!?!

Oh no! According to E! Online, terrible ballroom dancer and reality TV desperadina Kate Gosselin will display her “not-so-serious side” at the very beginning of August 29′s primetime Emmys telecast alongside host Jimmy Fallon. It will be just like this photo, except presumably Kate and Jimmy will not be attempting to convey the harsh realities of fame via the power of the paso doble. This does not bode well.

Does anyone remember the last time Kate Gosselin tried to display her not-so-serious side during network primetime? It was the during the season 10 finale of Dancing With the Stars. You did not watch it, so I will just tell you what happened: It was a dark and stormy night. After a bunch of nobodies like Shannen Doherty performed their exhibitions, Glamorous Star and Record Ratings-Monger Kate appeared! First she re-danced her cringe-inducing ”Paparazzi” paso doble. Then suddenly more of her legs were showing and without any warning whatsoever — SCENE CHANGE — she was grinning ”serenely” atop a forklift as a low-powered smoke machine sputtered below. The audience’s reaction was nil; nobody had a clue what was going on. Tom Bergeron had to diffuse the intense awkwardness of the post-dance atmosphere by joking that she’d be up there for the next two hours, and you could tell the audience members who’d woken up by that point were like “Oh, wow, that’d be great!” PopWatch reader LR summed it up better and more depressingly than I ever could: ”Watching Kate Gosselin dance to ‘I Will Survive’ was one of the worst moments of my life. And I’ve had a horrible life.” That’s the spirit! What a season!

If nobody in the live audience of a ballroom dancing reality show of which she was a legitimate cast member could be bothered to care about Kate’s tragic attempt at levity, I can’t even imagine how the audience (let alone viewers at home) will react during the freaking EMMYS.

I don’t remember that from the finale. Lucky me, I guess. But seriously, someone invited her?!

    • So What

its the Emmy’s they give awards for sitcoms and gameshows.. Whats the problem?

  • T.

Well, since nobody watches the Emmys, I doubt it will be much of a splash. That being said, if I was going to watch them, I certainly wouldn’t now. I can’t believe that the true actors that are there and nominated for real shows wouldn’t find that so offensive, and boycott. But I suppose that would give too much credence to her, so better off just ignoring her. I’m assuming they are simply going to make her a laughingstock, not that she needs help with that.

I think this is going to be exactly as disturbing and fascinating as a gory car crash.

  • retirednotdead

what are they thinking! this woman is toxic! poor chilren, especially the 5 girls! role model?

    • Js

It’s like a sitcom — the kids have disappeared after their usefulness. She has no children now.

    • Sherin

Name one person in show business today or from past, who hasn’t had a singe failure un their personal or professional career! Surely, there are men and women far worse in media today.Nothing wrong with her beong on show. And let’s admit it,she can speak reasonably well and is intelligent enough to be on tv or an awards’ show.Way to go Kate.

    • Karen

Really? Toxic?? Aha no wonder i see very ‘intoxicated’ 8 kids when i watch her on tv.Come on,give her a break. She’s far more responsble and dependable as a parent than most parents in US today.

  • Michelle

Whoever invited her needs to be shot. Was it a cruel joke? One more reason not to watch the Emmys. I really wish KG would just go away.

    • Adam

She should have gone away last year. But then “Dancing With the Stars” HAD to choose her and extend her 15 minutes of fame into the new decade, and now she won’t go away. What does it say about this country that someone like her gets so much attention?

    • Janice

      you needn’t watch then :)

  • Caro

    she’s a hustler. I’m surprised she hasn’t joined Jay z’s crew yet..

    • Hizzo

Probably because he’d have to rewrite “99 Problems”.
      (People getting that in 3 . . .2 . . )

      • Karl

Because he’s got 99 problems and this b*tch ain’t one?? Huh??

      • jape

        FAIL.

  • JumpingJackie

    This is Sarah Palin’s fault.

    • Elizabeth

Maybe Sarah could “Cut-in” and dance too!

  • Madd

Don’t tell me Jimmy will have to apologize for his fantastic impression (where he somehow managed to be 1000000x better than her).
In the immortal words of Annie Barrett, she is neither hidden nor a gem.

From “You did not watch it, so I will just tell you what happened” to LR’s comment, this post was hilarious.

So Kate Gosselin is invited and we are supposed to believe that the Emmys are more prestigious than the Golden Globes? In what way exactly?

  • musicchick007

For the love of god WHY in the world would ANYONE want her to be there? First of all she is NOT a celeb. She may think she is. WHY does anyone know her name? Cuz she SOLD her kids to be on tv. Second the Emmy’s must really be hurting and grasping at straws to ask this dump truck on. I will NEVER watch anything that she is on. EVER.

    • Chartl

I was going to comment but musicchick007 wrote it for me. She may as well signed my name. the only thing I can add is she seems to draw a crowd in spite of the fact that she is sooooo horrible at anything she attempts and seems to draw the crowd because she is a laughing stock at this point. That and the fact that she is so hated that people want to see her fail!!!! Would have loved to see her fall while dancing. she needs to be knocked of her high horse. Of course she would blame her dance partner or her kids or anyone but herself!!! Disgusting excuse for entertainment is KG. Why these programs keep shoving her down our throats is beyond me. I will not watch the Emmy’s just like I stopped watching DWTS. GO AWAY KATE!!!

  • dessertgirl

Now, how will this work? Will Steve be seated next to Kate or will they have to cordon off a whole section for a ring of security for her? Kate has a problem with restrooms. She needs to have her own or she can’t go. I guess all the ladies will just have to hold it if Queen Kate feels the urge.

  • dessertgirl

Kate has a lot to do before the Emmys. She has to get her dress, etc. and then take Steve out for a new designer tux. Kate buys all of Steve’s wardrobe. The kids might look like refugees but Steve looks good.

  • Preston

I don’t understand why Kate Gosselin likes to exploit herself to ridiculous extremes such as this. And she knew she was horrible on Dancing with the Stars-the dismal 14s and 15s that the judges gave her last spring. This borderlines on desperation on the 54th parallel right here!

  • Allie

is it really that surprising? she’s been on tv and is well known! so it’s no surprise that she would be invited to the emmys. and yes she is a celebrity because everybody knows about her and she is famous on tv. that’s what celebrity is. a lot of you are probably just jealous that you don’t make tons of money. and the emmys are coming up soon, not the globes so that’s why this was mentioned. grow up.

    • Phil

The Emmys used to be about acting, and real television shows, of which reality shows do not count. Being a celebrity has nothing to do with being at the Emmys. I care not how much money she makes, I care that she is not an actress, but someone not worthy of being there, and that it makes the Emmys more of a joke than usual. Please try to mature, and perhaps take an English class. Thank you.

    • Get Wise, Capitalize

That’s a Kate Gosselin size mess you typed.

    • nmb

I do not think that anyone who writes a negative comment about Kate Gosselin is jealous that she makes tons of money. They just find her annoying like the rest of us.
