Image Credit: Everett CollectionI know they’ve only been in two movies together (1997′s Kiss the Girls and 2002′ High Crimes), but for some irrational reason, I think of Morgan Freeman and Ashley Judd as the peanut butter and raspberry jam of cinematic pairings: How can one possibly exist without the other? So needless to say, I was elated to read in The Hollywood Reporter this morning that Freeman and Judd are mulling a reunion (alongside Harry Connick Jr.) in Dolphin Tale, a story about the friendship between a boy and a brave dolphin whose use of a prosthetic fin touches people across the planet. Judd has her eye on the role of the boy’s mother, Freeman the dolphin’s doctor, but I’m hoping a script doctor will set things straight by rewriting their roles as “plucky young police officer” and “grizzled-but-wise detective (with one week left on the job).” Got better ideas for their characters? I agree, I love them together! I would also be glad to see Ashley in another film. I really love her as an actress. Double Jeopardy is one of those movies I will watch anytime it’s on.
She can play his step-granddaughter for whom he leaves his wife.
are you sure about that?
Well, I guess she IS a little old for that role.
I’d suggest a role in which Morgan Freeman’s character has an affair with his granddaughter, but he may find the role not challenging enough, as he wouldn’t have to act.
Woo hoo! I, too, think they make an awesome team.
Clearly, she has no career without him, while he is part of a franchise making mega-millions without her (the current “Batman” films).
This would be a pan-species RomCom?
Ashley Judd as the immature older man with trust issues, and Morgan Freeman as the wise-beyond-her-years schoolgirl who teaches him about life and love. Or thereabouts.
Oh I agree – these two belong together! I kept hoping for a little on screen romantic action between them on Kiss the Girls. As long as her part includes the descriptive “plucky” and his includes “grizzled”, I’m in!
I love both of them
Totally agree – aren’t they friends IRL too? It’s been too long!
Did anyone else’s jaw drop when they read the description of the movie’s plot?
