Jane Lynch has been immortalized at Madame Tussauds Hollywood in the form of Sue Sylvester. Her reaction to seeing her wax better half at yesterday’s unveiling ceremony: “Unbelievable. Ohmygod, this is too much. It’s too weird. I feel like I’m seeing myself in a coffin or something,” she told the crowd. “Oh, this is amazing. You guys are great. And I think you might have minimized my ass, and I appreciate that. Thank you so much. Let’s hear it for Sue Sylvester!” Watch the ceremony in the clip below.
Lynch is introduced by Glee co-executive producer Ian Brennan, who she thanked for writing the dialogue she now spends most of her time memorizing. For anyone who doubts that Lynch deserves her Emmy nomination, watch Brennan’s intro and you see that Sue is at least 50 percent Lynch’s delivery. He imagines what Sue would think knowing that an excess of $300,000 was spent to immortalize her, “a tidy sum that spent otherwise could put a dozen inner-city kids through college. Not to mention all that wax that could be better spent tidying up unibrows everywhere or used to snatch up stray pubes from the bikini lines of overweight Slavic women. I think Sue would say, ‘No way, you are going to make me into a statue. Wax me up, bitches!'” (He scored bigger laughs referring to Lynch as “a woman of such cultural importance that everywhere she poops should be made into a national park.”)
P.S. Lynch says we’ll be adding a neon tracksuit to our gallery of Sue Sylvester style in season 2. Can’t wait.
