Too soon? Yes.)“Your father’s dead,” but the good news is that FX has renewed Louis C.K.’s half-hour comedy/cringe-fest Louie for 13 more episodes. Oh, joy! Rapture! Television has a brain! Way to go, FX (F—ing Xcellent). At the risk of sounding insensitive, this news makes me want to party down. (
My favorite scene so far was Louie’s reluctant attempt at serious acting in the presence of Matthew Broderick in last week’s “Heckler/Cop Movie.” However, as I’ve taken to closing my eyes, snapping, and swaying (while remaining seated of course) in what could tentatively be called a “groove” whenever the opening titles come on, maybe technically my favorite thing about the show is the theme song. “Louie, Louie, Louie, Lou-eee…”
New show tonight: 11 p.m. ET. Watch it! There have only been six episodes, which means that in less than three hours on Hulu, you can become a proprietary, possibly smug overlord of a cool show that is definitely not about to get canceled. That’s almost never the case! Get in there.
What’s been your favorite Louie moment so far?
