I would love to see this show…I don’t have a problem with V-Hud, it’s Wayne Brady that I don’t buy as Collins. To me Collins should be broody and manly. I saw the origial cast on Broadway(3rd row), Adam Pascal, Anthony Rapp, Taye Diggs, Jesse L Martin…such a great memory. I’ve seen Rent in several other cities (Including the worst show in London, England) and slept on sidewalks for rush seats…nothing compares to the original…although seeing NPH could definitely come close!

Everyone on three: MORE AARON TVEIT.

    I love that boy’s voice.

Forget about Vanessa, does anyone else think that Wayne Brady as Collins is a little strange?

I wish this show was playing in New York instead of LA. I would kill to see Aaron Tveit and Skylar Astin as Roger and Mark.

I saw the original on broadway in 96. The only one that looks like a miscast is Brady as Collins. That part is for a baritone and I’ll Cover You is one of the most powerful moments in the play. They went with names over substance. It it will be a nice event at the HB. Got my tickets.

I think Vanessa is a perfect blend of sexy, vulnerable, and sassy for this role. I’m sure most of you people who are being critical do not have a grasp of how talented she really is, because HSM doesn’t scratch the surface. How unfair to make comments about her talent based on a series of TV movies done years ago? I loved her character in Bandslam, and it was a GREAT little movie, especially if you’re a music buff. Quit throwing stones at her….she at least HAS talent, unlike most of the starlets out there today. I just think Vanessa will surprise a lot of people if they give her a chance. And wait til you see Sucker Punch.

    Skylar Astin,
Telly Leung, Tracie Thoms, and Aaron Tveit are going to be AMAZING!!! I honestly am really disgusted with Vanessa and Nicole having any part in a show I adore. Be interesting to see reviews/reactions……

Sorry! I meant to say *disappointed* not *disgusted*. I’m a big fan of the show and I don’t believe these women have the skills to carry off uch strong roles.

These are a bunch of judgmental people. I like Vanessa Hugdgens and I think some of the young Hollywood starts should take lessons from her. She’s been with the same relationship for almost 5 years and never seen her passing out in some clubs drunk. Give her a break. NPH offered her this job because he saw a lot of talents after filming a movie with her. I saw RENT in a movie with Rosario Dawson, I thought she did ok. Let the unsinned ones cast the first stone. Frankly, if I had a beautiful body like her? I would take nude photos of me. I can’t believe someone even suggested Miley Cyrus. Are you kidding me?

We’re visiting family from Erie, Pa. We’re going on Friday. Have tickets in hand. Can’t wait!

So just saw it….Vanessa Hudgens was HORRIBLE…everyone around me busted out laughing when Mimi “dies”. Nicole Scherzinger STOLE the show….she was brilliant. I’ve seen Rent about 50 times..and she made me laugh at OTM like I’ve never seen it before. The Roger and Mark were strong..Tracie Thoms was strong…Wayne Brady was miscast..should have been Benny. The Benny was horrible as well and Telly was just ok…all this is just my opinion.
