Quote from the congressman “The ethics committee wants to make sure there’s not TOO much influence between the elected officials and the PAID lobbyists here in Washington, D.C.” (My caps.) There is SO much wrong with that quote — apparently even the ETHICS committee feels that influence is OK, as long as it’s not “too much” — I’d love to hear how they define “too much”!
This is about integrity.
The way I see it is -
1. Alex took the puree and the producers didn’t call him on it because it makes “good TV”.
2.Alex didn’t take the puree and the producers knew it but then went ahead and made him look guilty because it makes “good TV”.
The idea that the producers didn’t know that the puree was in question is absurd. Why would they let someone cheat? I think they knew he didn’t take it and yet made him look guilty anyway.
Judging Jerks: Tom actually called it “gamesmanship”. Like how a basketball team will call a time-out to try to “ice” the other guy at the free throw line. To me, he totally tanked that challenge to try to get Kenny voted off.
I am seriously considering giving up on this season. None of these chefs can hold a candle to the Fab Four from last season in terms of cooking. And I thought the brother’s rivalry was fun to watch. Even Mike I or Eli would have kicked a$$ in this season.
Well if Alex stole the pea puree then he should have been kicked off. Not that I liked Andrea but she gets to stay. This makes me assume that he did not steal the puree. Really wrong of Top Chef not to clarify what happened. Not fair to Ed, Alex, or Andrea until the truth is told. It’s like no big deal if he stole it and screwed Ed and no big deal if everyone thinks he cheated if he did not.
I had to watch this a few times because it was a late night and I kept nodding off. I Swear they tried to make it seem like Alex took the puree, but they showed him making it, and I SWEAR later when Ed was freaking out, they cut to a pan of simmering solid peas. Just sayin’. Wouldnt like to be Alex now, they all think he did it anyway.

Methinks the Pea Puree is a Red Herring as in those Mystery Movies of the Golden Era of Hollywood. Mesuspects a ‘Dramatic’ Moment when the contestents face a pensive Tom Collicio (mispelled) and Art Smith and Padma & Gail in the quickfire Kicthen. Key Dramatic Music: Accusation, “Alex, did yoy lie?” Confrontation Scene. Then a Cookfire Duel between Ed & Alex each making Pea Puree. Naturally Alex’s Pea Puree will look & Taste like Pee Puree Which Art Smith will declare “Not what I had Yesterday,” while Ed’s Puree will be Declared the True Actual Puree – - – Alex will be dramatically Booted Off the Show and Ed declared the Winner. Seriouslly The Palm Resteraunt cannot afford to have Alex’s smarky face on their Walls.
(There will also be a dramatic recepit from Whole Foods showing that Alex never bought any Peas!)

So I think the real point is that no one really knows for sure at this point (except Alex) whether he stole it or not, but this recapper presents it as prooved fact that he did. Kind of weird. I’d rather have a recap that actually reflects what happened on the show.
Not really feeling this group of contestants this season so far. top chef just desserts looks kind of interesting though.
