I’m uncomfortable seeing the beloved Yogi Bear depicted in live-action 3-D, but I’m sure the feeling will subside over time. I remember being horrified when I first saw the re-imagined version of Alvin and the Chipmunks, but I have moved past that to the point where I can look at them without weeping. We all move on eventually, right? I accept this version of Yogi and Boo Boo at face value. I can be bitter, but this live-action 3-D business is pretty much here to stay.
My only qualm? CG cartoons sometimes cross the line into creepy territory. I was never terrified of the Care Bears or Franklin. This poster is a bit of a mixed bag, if you ask me:
Creepy = Yogi’s smile might give me night-a-mares if he doesn’t calm down.
Cute = Drawing a bear snout in your “o”s might never be as cool as dotting your “i”‘s with hearts, but it’s certainly adorable
Cute = Yogi’s one-leg-up pose
Creepy = Boo Boo’s bow tie. I know he’s always had it, but unless you’re Chuck Bass, it’s creepy.
Creepy = Yogi’s eyes
Cute = Never realized Yogi’s tie was so Don Draper
What do you think, PopWatchers? Is the Yogi poster cute or creepy? And are you slowly accepting that 3-D live-action is here to stay?

This is so weird! I was thinking about the creepy Yogi image from a few months ago just yesterday. That image was a thousand times more creepy, but this could cause a few nightmares.
And Justin Timberlake as Boo Boo? WTF?
Leave it to Hollywood to rip a beloved character from my childhood (my stuffed Yogi Bear was my favorite toy), tear it up, and stomp on it. Of course the poster is creepy. The whole thing is creepy. Have they no shame? No shame at all? The horror. The horror.

Even Creepier: The thought of a CG Quik-Draw McGraw live-action movie, which is almost a certain if the Yogi movie is a success.

Yep, that plate on Boo Boo’s crotch makes me aware that neither have pants, and it also makes me think that he’s covering up. So, creepy.

I don’t see anything particularly creepy about this, tbh. I mean, it’s not like that live action Garbage Pail Kids movie that still makes me shudder to this day even as a grown man.

Okay, saw the trailer. Surprisingly(and sadly), Justin Timberlake is the only good thing about it. I wasn’t expecting him to do a spot on Boo Boo.
