Comic-Con: Calling all bitter non-attendees. Which panel would you have LOVED to see?

supernaturalImage Credit: Chelsea Lauren/WireImage.comI didn’t go to Comic-Con this year. It’s an unfunny story, actually: Shortly after buying my Comic-Con ticket, I moved to New York. After realizing it wouldn’t be a smart move to make an expensive commitment right after moving, I got a refund for my ticket. It was one of those decisions that makes you realize you’re turning into an adult — and it really sucks. “But,” I told myself, “there will be other years.”

Well, I don’t have to tell you that this wasn’t just any year, PopWatchers.

No, this year, Joss Whedon was there talking about his next big project, The Avengers. He took the stage with J.J. Abrams. The cast of True Blood attended, as did the gangs from The Big Bang Theory, Glee, and Community. Ryan Reynolds and Wentworth Miller, two long-time members of my list of lust, were there as well. Cue my jealous twitching.

As fun as it was to follow the coverage of it all, I was still pretty devastated watching it unravel this weekend. My biggest regret is missing those guys in the photo to the left. Yea, those guys. I would have given a vital organ to see the boys from Supernatural in person (no appendages — those are mine for the keeping). You see, I’m always worried about never having a chance to experience the fandemonium in person. What if the cast decides not to show up next year? Or (God forbid!) the show gets canceled. That’s not to say I think Supernatural will end after its sixth season, but it’s always a genuine concern of mine with any of my favorite shows.

My wallet is still glad I didn’t go, but I’m not. What about you, PopWatchers? To those of you who didn’t go to Comic-Con, which panel would you have given a vital organ (or valuable possession) to see? You can tell me. This is a space of non-judgment and love — and speaking of which, everyone who went to Comic-Con can get the hell out. (Kidding! That my bitter talking.)

I would have gladly given my spleen to see the Joss Whedon Experience and/or the Joss Whedon & JJ Abrams panel

    • Nicole

Agree, I would have given anything including my spleen and/or my collection of Lost posters to be at the Whedon/Abrams panel with Doc Jensen. That has to be a once in a lifetime experience.

      • Jesse

I wholeheartedly agree. I went last year and had a good time, but couldn’t afford to go this year, and was horribly bummed when they started saying last year was an off year. LOL Ahhh, well, hopefully 2011 will be another great year. I’m already anticipating a panel for the next Batman movie.

    • strickens_girl

Agreed. These two together give me a serious nerdgasm.

    • Peter Vee

I did see it, it was on EW.com.

  • kim in kentucky

oooh True Blood def! Would have liked the BBT too, but unsure what would give up for that one

  • Madd

Women Who Kick A**, of course. Two words: Elizabeth Mitchell.

The one thing I wish I had attended was The Scott Pilgrim Vs. Comic Con Experience. To see the cast, make your own shirt and just be around all that great talent would have been priceles. Would have loved Brian Lee O’Malley to sign Vol. 6 as well. I’ll be going next year for sure.

The BBC America Being Human panel. I adore Russell Tovey. I’m still upset that I missed all of the Lost panels in years past. Not okay. Actually, next year is the year to go since 2012 has so many big films coming out. Would love it if there was a Batman panel next year.

I did go to the BH panel (second year in a row). It was fun but not too much different from last year’s. But even being at Comic-Con doesn’t mean you actually can get into the panels you wanted to see. I spent an hour in line for the Caprica panel before I realized there were a thousand people in line still ahead of me trying to get in and there was no chance of my ever getting into the room before the panel was over. :(

      • Shannon

I went to that one. Everyone seemed to be waiting for Big Bang Theory though. Once in for Stargate Universe and Caprica no one left because of BBT. I was there for those three plus Bones afterwards. The room basically emptied after BBT. It was insane!

  • dizzy

Probably the Harry Potter panel. I’m jealous of those HP fans who got to see Tom Felton and new footage.

  • Liz Lemon

Harry Potter! It was only like 5 minutes long, but I want to see that footage SO BAD!!!
Also the Scott Pilgrim Vs. the World, Lost, and True Blood. :D

  • Sarah

I would have LOVED to see the Bones panel – I have frantically searched the net for video!

  • madd

I wish i couldve seen the ARCHER panel! Give me some coverage on that show EW!

  • jessica

THE GLEE PANEL!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Even more so if the always sexy and fun Lea Michele was there :) swoon

  • Jose

I would just want to be there, period.

    • Zoey

Yup. I’d have given a kidney to be there.

  • Jenn

For me it’s all about Leverage and Burn Notice!! I would have given just about anything to be in the same state let alone the same room as these actors.. oh yummmm

    • brue81

Oh Def would have given a kidney for Burn Notice. Maybe only a gallbladder or spleen if Jeffery wasn’t there.

  • DamonLover

I would have loved to have seen the panel for “The Vampire Diaries”. That would have been fangtastic!!!!!

    • DamonLover

I should add that Joss Whedon is my all time favorite idol and so of course, I would have LOVED to have seen him. Though I don’t believe he was talking anything “Buffy” related, seeing him in person would probably cause me to die of a heart attack. And what a happy death it would be, haha.

  • crissycalhoun

    No contest: The Vampire Diaries.

  • JJMMTT

Joss Whedon. Harry Potter. The Guild. Chuck. Psych!!!!

    • MelindaB65

      Ditto!
