I’ve lost interest in this season. Last season’s chefs were sooo much better. Plus, there is so much more conflict and back-biting this season.
You may be right that last season had so much talent they ran out this season. Last season blew me away. Angelo & Dr. Rey could be twins! I am so not liking this season. Who knew a pea puree could be so scandalous?
I agree that this season kind of sucks. But if you look at some of the main competition shows this season – American Idol, Next Food Network Star, for instance – the bottom of the barrel seems to be where the producers have looked for contestants. Maybe they’re saving the good contestants for the start the new decade next year. This one sure has fizzled out.
Yes, this season is boring, and yes, there’s back-biting. However, last season, there was more meanness and back-biting. I’m surprised people don’t remember that. In fact, I was hoping the brother who won (sorry, can’t even remember his name) wouldn’t, because he was so nasty to everyone, including his brother. And remember how people attacked that older, cancer-survivor woman. People have short memories.
There are a lot of reality shows on. It’s hard to remember all the people on these shows. But now that you bring it up, I remember those nasty brothers.
Brian was not nasty….
It was the way he phrased it that made Ed sleazy – and that Texas chick he’s hitting on should’ve taken notice.
Anyone can have a bad day – even Kenny. It is apparent that the other chefs do consider him to be one of the stronger contestants and Amanda the least. I find it funny how they are all gossipy with each other. Of all the contestants, Angelo comes off as the most aggressive with regards tot eh competition.
I think that Tameka being gone will take some ‘air’ out of Angelo since he’s lost his BFF on the show.
i haven’t gone through all the responses… but the person writing these recaps should know that michele bernstein is pretty well-respected chef. she was the chef at jade at the mandarin oriental hotel in miami… a restaurant that consistently topped lists of restaurants in miami while she was there… and now she has michy’s and sra martinez… two more well-repsected restaurants. i would argue that she knows at least as much about cooking as the cheftestants… if not more.
Agree – recapper is one of the least knowledgable I’ve ever read on EW.com. James Beard awards are not easy to come by. Recapper could not have been more insulting to Michelle.
I really didn’t like the chefs judging each other. Why did the producers set it up that way when they are in competition with each other?? At the least it should have been a blind challenge, where they didn’t know who cooked what. I thought the only reason Kenny was up there was due to lies and that’s not how this game is played. It’s all about the food, not the manipulation.
I think Amanda is interesting, confident and just needs to settle down a bit. Archana, I think ripping on someone for overcoming addictions is pretty low, good for her for doing it.
I think she kind of resembles a cross between kyra sedgewick and sandra bernhard myself. I agree, this season is boring and Bravo plays it on my station ALL DAY on Wednesdays, arrgh
and by she, I mean Kelly
Amanda does resemble sarah silverman I agree totally
You guys are so easily manipulated. Don’t you realize that Top Chef wants to make Angelo look like a villain so that it’s okay when the most talented chef in the competition loses at the end. They decide early on who they want to win the competition and they only let you see the disparaging videos about him. It’s obvious they want Tiffany to win this year.
