Image Credit: Craig Sjodin/ABCI’m experiencing something new with this season of The Bachelorette: For the first time, neither of the final two men annoy me, and I like one of them — Chris L. — so much, I’m sort of hoping he doesn’t get picked. I know I’m not alone, which is why Bachelor producers would be smart to ask him to be the next Bachelor if Ali chooses Roberto instead. But here’s the thing: Do we actually trust Mike Fleiss to set Chris up with 25 sane women worthy of him? No. He’s got a TV show to make. The minute 33-year-old Chris decides to keep a 21-year-old who bites through a can or reads bad poetry to make a good first impression, it’s over. To quote Duckie from Pretty in Pink (because why wouldn’t I when talking about matters of the heart?): “I’m not particularly concerned with whether or not you like me, because I live to like you and… and… and I can’t like you anymore.” (Clarification: I do not actually live to like him, but genuinely liking someone who has appeared on this show is validation for watching it all these years.)

I think we’ve covered this over on the Bachelorette boards…but definitely NO. Chris is kind, sincere, and real – he deserves better than drunk famewhoring skanks tucking their panties into his pockets.

Besides, the article says, “…set Chris up with 25 sane women worthy of him.” The operative word was ‘SANE’. I don’t think these producers could find 25 sane women, much less worthy of Chris. It’s obvious (according to TV writers/reporters) that sane, confident women DO NOT make for good ratings! Ratings are the most important thing!!

Totally agreed. I liked both Jason and Jake before their seasons and now I really don’t like either (though especially Jake because now he just seems straight up creepy). I like Chris L. too much, I don’t want this show to corrupt him too!

I agrre new face new rules….If some one come to the show with girlfriend or boyfriend at home and decide to quite becouse he is still in love ..he or she should pay all the expencess up to date.food, accomodation, airfaire etc..

Dating under a microscope is never good for anyone. You get to see their quirks, their fashion choices, the corny lines and the rejections. The most likable people get crucified by the viewers.
He seems like the real deal, and a sweetie. But keep in mind, he DID sign up to be on this high-profile trainwreck of a show. I think Ali is going to choose him, though, so I think this debate will be moot. Roberto would be a better Bachelor. He’s cute too.
Did he REALLY know what he was getting himself into? Last night when Ali brought out the fantasy suite card, he genuinely seemed like he didn’t know that it was coming or what it really was. I think everyone loves Chris so much because he didn’t know how the show always goes, so he is actually being himself.

I too like Chris L., he’s a sweetie! But am I the only one who thinks the tattoo of his Mom’s signature around his body is a little weird? Every time he makes love to a woman, they will see his Mom’s name! Weird, no?
I totally agree. It’s weird. It’s creepy. Mourning is not sexy. And it’s a private thing. I wouldn’t go on TV and discuss the death of a loved one for mass consumption. And tattooing your mom’s signature on your torso? So tasteless. And creepy. And maudlin.
No…No…NO!!! Chris deserves SO much better than what Fleiss & Co would offer him!!! Let the man go back to his life and find a real woman who will treat him as wonderfully as he will surely treat her! I love him WAY too much to want to see him be the next Bach.

I agree with most of YOU but that is why I would want him to be the next Bachelor. He would be one of the first ones to be honest, sincere and not there for fame but to find love. The producers would or should do him right and have 25 honest and sincere women there to vie for his love. Would be a first, right?

Then why is he on the show in the first place? Has he really entered into this artificial world thinking it’s all for real? I’m not disputing or questioning that he is a nice guy…but it is hard for me to understand how a person would enter into something like this, knowing how contrived it all is, and be thinking that that it is genuine and authentic. I mean, my intentions may be good and genuine, but if I know that it’s all a game for everyone else, how can I expect a genuine and authentic outcome?
From the limo scene the first night, I thought Chris watched the show and was taken by Ali and that’s why he came on the show. I love Chris and would not want him to be the next bachelor (he deserves better) but I was somewhat surprised that he was actually a viewer of the show.

I don’t think so. He’s a very sensitive person, and the games played on the show would not do well for him. Let him loose – the women of the world are going to flock to him in Cape Cod! He can find love without drama and gossip!! If she picks Chris, Roberto should definitely be the next bachelor! although he is genuine and sensitive too. . .
I adore Chris L. and I think if he is not chosen it would not be good for him to go on The Bachlore. He is a class act and he doesn’t need to sort through skanky women to get a good one….Ali is a great girl, but many of contestants are questionable on these reality shows.

Chris is a boring nice guy… please pick someone new that we havent seen over and over again..like flaky Ali and her whiny fake crying. She gets mad at Frank for leaving and calls him a jerk…while she did the exact same thing for even less of an excuse…not for love, but for her job..which she leaves anyway for the show… what a joke she is.

Chris L. has been my pick from the beginning. As much as I like Ali -she is not right for him and I hope she doesn’t choose him. Where is Tenley when we need her? Now THAT is a match made in Heaven! Chris L. and Tenley…2 people who absolutely deserve one another! Make us proud ABC and get these two together!

Oh, I agree with Mrs. C. Tenley would be good for Chris – I think. She might be too gooey. Did you notice his sisters in law were both very smart, kind and sensible? Not emotional or gooey like that. She might be too much for them, on second thought.

I would hope that if Chris is asked to be the Bachelor, he will say no. However, I feel like people get brainwashed on this show, thinking ‘I did find love, it wasn’t meant to be, but this process works’ so they continue on. I’m like Mandi, I actually think he’s too good for this show, and in my mind it plays out that he is offered but turns it down!
I think Chris is a great choice for the Bachelor but let’s make it really interesting by having his Dad also look for love with 25 older ladies. It would be so much fun if they could help eachother through it!
Maybe his dad could be his roomie in the Bachelor mansion! That way he wouldn’t lose his son for another long stretch of time. He missed his roomie waaaaay too much. And if Chris IS the Bachelor, skankalicious chicks need not apply.
I think they could do a terrific show with someone like Chris’s dad. His actual dad may not be the best choice as he appears to have had such a long and happy marriage. But an older dad is to me a good idea, though it wouldn’t fit the desired 18-49 demographic.
Please, for the love of all things holy, get some fresh blood for the next Bachelor!! I’m so tired of seeing all these retreads. Chris is definitely too good for this show. Dealing with 25 crazy women would kill his soul.
