Anybody ever considered it was Mal’s dream?
Or
Some of you forget the archetect was Ariadne(the Greek mythical Goddess who helps Perceus find his way through a MAZE) -it’s her dream (at least the first three levels)- And Cobb told her that the top would spin in her dreams… There are many plausable theories and some really stupid ones…No matter what though it is fiction, the movie is the incarnation of Nolan’s dream…Reality is subjective as are dreams. The best thing about this movie incites people to think and share their thoughts like this blog for instance. There is no right answer, there are some questionable theories though. But at least you are thinking though.

I think people are looking at this from within the box instead of trying to step out. The ending does not belong to the content of the story, it is a metaphor well portrayed by a talented director. He is clearly no longer in a dream, however, this innuendo if you will points to a simple question we face everyday, ‘What is reality anyway?’
What if the world we see everyday is NOT real?
Personally, that message popped out as clear as crystal water to me. It also made me think about the wife’s decision to end her life, and where she could possibly be now. Perhaps she was right and has truly surfaced to a realm of reality whereas he is the one now living a ‘dream’?
I’m so happy that so many people come to entirely different conclusions from my own and for different reasons because then the film has succeeded in what I want it to do; make people think instead of walking away from the movie like thoughtless zombies like I so often see.
I never considered that Cobb could’ve re-entered reality or that, that conclusion was even a possibility. It wouldn’t make me happier or make me think the film was more complete, to the contrary.
k well guys heres the part a lot of ppl missed because it happened fast in the scene where he is recruiting the guy to make the stuff that puts u to sleep he goes put me under nd den wakes up nd trys to spin his totem on the sink saito comes in nd scares him nd cobb hits hit totem nd falls to the floor from being startled from den on in the movie cobb never spins his totem till the end where it shows hes dreaming
Cobb was dreaming because he drowned in the van in the water and ended up in limbo, so the entire ending of him being on the airplane, landing in the US and seeing his children were all being created in his subconscious.
cob was home at the end it’s clear the china man was old he reminded he the promise and the plane landed and everthing turned out he said good bie to his wife and all…sorry fokes but he made it
You guys are missing the point. its not that he is awake or asleep. its that he finally turned away from the top that he desperately clung to. to him it didnt matter anymore. he was home.
lets think carefully when mal his wife jumped out the window because she thought it was a dream mabey it was a dream and she came back to reality and was trying to get her husband out so thats why she kept popping up and trying to get him to wake!
At the beginning of the movie he woke up at the beach… as shown later in the movie when arriving at limbo you wake up on a beach…ergo the whole movie was his limbo. Or at least I found this to be a fun theory.
chud lo bhosadi ke kuch pata hai bhi faltu ke critics
im not too bothered either way i just adore this movie, i hope theirs more like this and shutter island in the future
Hey There. I found your blog the usage of msn. That is a really neatly written article. I’ll be sure to bookmark it and come back to read extra of your helpful info. Thank you for the post. I will certainly comeback.
IT OBVIOUS THAT HE WAS IN DREAM SO EVERYTHING WAS DREAM INSIDE DREAM FROM DREAM INSIDE OF IT.
ITS THATS WHY CAUSE NOLAN IS GONNA MAKE PART 2 INCEPTION, WHERE HE KNOWS THAT HE IS IN DREAM BUT GETS OUT OF THERE.
If you listen carefully you can hear the totem stopping just before the subtitles.
