Aside from the hopefuls that could play bruce banner, i dont like that chris evans is playing captain america. Much rather have the guy from avatar

    • Ralph

Guy from Avatar isn’t an American and they were adament that Captain “America” would be played by an actual American.

  • breezebox

Timothy Olyphant might be a good choice!

Personally, I think they need to open discussions back up with Ed Norton. This think shouldn’t keep changing hands. But…If you must, Matthew Fox would be a good choice. He could fit the role very well.

  • Horvs

I kind of like Giovanni Ribisi for banner.

  • Mels

I think Mel Gibson as the angry man in green would be perfect !!!!

  • Horvs

    Shia Lebouf?

IMDB.com has an article on the home page (actually the source credit is EW) about Mark Ruffalo being in talks to play the Hulk. I have never been a big fan of his. All of his characters come off a little annoying and unlikeable to me, but whatevs. I think a kick booty choice for the role would be Clive Owen. If he’s not going to get a crack at Bond, I’d love to see him in something fun like the Hulk. OR if they wand somebody cheap and they could get Benjamin Bratt. He kind of gives me the same vibe/look as Ruffalo but is a lot more palatable.

Zachary Quinto for sure!!! He was great in Heroes, and he also has big budget movie experience!! He would be perfect!!!

and I don’t like that Chris Evans is playing Capt America, seeing as how he has already played another Marvel Character (Human Torch)!! Its bad enough that now three people will have played Banner, we dont need one actor playing multiple Marvel Hero.

    • Ralph

Yes, but he played a Marvel Character in a franchise not wholly owned by Marvel Comics. Meaning that the characters could never exist in the same film anyway. Fantastic Four was produced by 20th Century Fox as they have held the rights for years. The Avengers and its associated films are produced by Marvel Studios (which was recently bought by Disney, but I digress). Basically, for Johnny Storm to even appear alongside Captain America in film, the rights would have to revert to Marvel (which won’t happen for several more years) and it would then be a reboot as the films couldn’t be connected to the 2 films produced by 20th Century Fox (meaning a different actor would have to portray Johnny Storm anyway). Fortunately, Marvel got smart and stopped selling off the film rights to their characters. However, several of them are currently still owned by other production companies (FF, Spider-Man, and Blade most notably). The Hulk rights were one of the first set to revert back to Marvel which was interesting given that Ang Lee’s Hulk wasn’t all that long ago. Sufficed to say, portraying multiple marvel characters is hardly meaningful at all unless such characters were both produced under Marvel Studios. There is one actor that has done (will do) just that. Ray Stevenson, who recently played the Punisher when the rights for that film franchise reverted to Marvel will also appear as one of the Warriors Three (a minor character) in the upcoming Thor film. Doubt those two would have appeared on camera together anyway.

    • Ralph

Oh, and that Punisher movie was also not under the Marvel Studios banner. However, the Punisher rights have also reverted to Marvel (rather quickly it seems). It seems there will be another Punisher movie with yet another actor (the 4th such cinematic attempt for the character). Interesting to see what direction it will go this time.

I hear Jeremiah Murphy made a screentest for the Hulk at http://www.iwanttobehulk.com

i vote for brock lesnar yes

    • Ralph

Uhm…. As Bruce Banner? I’m sorry my friend, but you’d make a TERRIBLE casting director.

  • Gilberto Edwards

My comment is why is kevin fegie stupid self trying to piss off norton by replacing him for ruffalo. The cast says and credits Edward Norton is in the avengers 2012 next to mark ruffalo and samual jackson and chris evans and chris hemworth and robert downey jr.

I grew up watching The Incredible Hulk in the 70′s. I feel Marvel had a great hit with Edward Norton and other cast members (they were right on the money with Bill Bixby and Lou Ferrigno). Please bring him back along with other cast members for another (Hulk) installment.

Disappointed, VERY DISAPPOINTED, Norton won’t be playing the Hulk in the Avengers. Will the Avengers be a good movie? Probably. But it won’t be the same without Norton. First thing my kids noticed watching the Avg. preview trailer, “Where’s Bannerman? Hey, that’s not the same guy?”

Dumb, dumb, dumb on Marvel’s part, imho of course. I’m just a fan. What do I know?

I do know that Norton handled it with way more class, publicly, than Marvel did. Thumbs down.
