It seems to be Holland’s fate to be the perennial also ran. They keep making it to the finals but they can’t ever to seem to be able to pull out the win. Personally, I was a little surprised by today’s Dutch style of play. It was sloppy and undisciplined. It was as though they’d lost their sense of purpose, almost like they didn’t want to win.
Off course the Netherlands played rough! They were in the finals for the first time in 32 years. They had nothing to lose! We have an amazing team, but Spain was better. They deserved a couple of more yellow cars, but De Jong deserved a red one for that kick!
I watched quite a few of the televised matches on Univision. If the English language audience had the privilege of listening to commentators who actually knew the game, it would be thrilled to watch. The difference in the telecasts was unbelievable! Tasha
the world cup up was on when did this happen was the game a 1-0 blowout would watch this if it was played in my backyard
The game was fugly! Those Spanish players should come to Hollywood. They can make it big as actors, i’m tellin’ u. It was a frustrating 120 minutes to sit through without much football spectacle. The only thing that worked for me was that i correctly predicted Spain to win 1-0 and made $150. Sweet!
I WANT PAUL THE OCTYPUS TO PREDICT MY FUTURE
Just one thing to say–ADIOS, VUVUZELAS!!! BZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!!!!!
Kate — I thought this was something a lot of Americans were watching, too, but turns out, according to a Marist poll, majority of Americans did not tune in to the World Cup.

So the WC really did last a whole month? Interesting…
Yes, congrats and Lawyerdatingsite was good
That was the most intense game I’ve ever seen. WOW I really hoped Holland would win but what can you do, tough luck
I was cheering for holland and I must say that I would like to know how FIFA chooses their refs. True, the Dutch were a little rough, but we really didnt deserve most of the cards we got. Most of it was the Spaniards diving and pretending to be hurt (then getting up again just fine after we get a card) and getting our best players taken out. The only reason they could even score was because Insiesta fell down in false agony when Heitinga’s hand skimmed his shoulder forcing him out of the game. Then there was the problem of Robben getting tackled by puyol and puyol not getting a card for something the dutch got carded for. Then (heres the interesting part) Robben asked the ref why he wasnt carded and got carded himself for talking back. Fifa picked a ref that was already known for his idiotic descisions to manage one of the most important sporting events in history. If it had been a fair ref, Spain may still have won, but I would be able to say “Good game” and get over it. Since it wasnt a fair ref, I cant say good game because it most certainly was not a good game. It was the most disgusting game ive ever seen. Its also annoying how the media dosnt even notice how stupid the ref was and tries its best to portray the dutch as maniacs kicking people while portraying the spaniards as innocent victims who deserved to win. The spaniards deserved more cards than us because from what ive heard, faking an injury is illegal.
