Ryan Seacrest and Laurie Ann Gibson's new dance show for E!: What should it look like?

seacrest-Laurie-Ann-GibsonImage Credit: PRN/PR Photos; Mark Dye/PR PhotosE! and Ryan Seacrest are teaming up with Lady Gaga choreographer Laurie Ann “Boom Kat Pow!” Gibson for a series about choreographers and dancers in Los Angeles. On one hand UGH, yet another dance show; on the other, Laurie Ann Gibson is crazy and that has to be worth something.

I’d like to see this new series focus on choreographers — maybe watching them compete to see which one can concoct the most exciting weekly routines for a set pool of dancers — or at least I think it would make sense for a series to do that. Because let’s be honest: With So You Think You Can Dance, America’s Best Dance Crew, Dancing With the Stars, Dance Your Ass Off, and CBS’ upcoming Got to Dance, who isn’t experiencing competitive dance series fatigue right about now? At this point in time, E! might be better off considering a single-camera comedy featuring Ryan Seacrest, all alone on a stage, trying desperately to keep up with the 2005 dance-along DVD Breakin’ It Down with Laurie Ann Gibson. It might get higher ratings. But I am being a total jerk today due to the heat. What do you want this show to look like? [THR]

bahahahahahahaha I like your single camera idea. Brillz.

Otherwise, yea, def a show focusing on choreographers. I’m sick of dance shows.

  • Yesenia

I love dance shows but I would love to see a show focused more on the brilliance/insanity of the choreographers.

I’ve loved the hilarity that is L.A. Gibson since back in the day when she was terrorizing ‘Making the Band’ contestants. I’d watch her do just about anything on tv.

All I have to say is…Boom Boom KAK!

WHAT ARE YOU DOING? No, it’s Boom Boom KAK!

  • Elizabeth in the Cleve again

Kind of like the “First 48″: follow two choreographers along for a day or so and watch them work. Have a pool of about 10 of them, cause it will get boring.

    Is Seacrest overexposed, or what??

  • ThatGuy

So Ryan’s trying to get a dance show knowing Paula is getting her own show as well. Ryan’s an asshole!

  • Laurie Who????

Wow. This story’s been out since July and all of 7 comments. If that’s any indication of how the show’s going to do, then I have regained my faith in the viewing public. This loser had no place in being on Skating With the Stars, and after the crap job she did on there, she should be ashamed to show her face anywhere. I laugh everytime I see the fake melodrama in the commercials and her talking like she’s f***ing curing cancer on this waste of air time. I haven’t seen this much unjustified self-importance since Rachel Zoe had her own show.

Oh come on give the girl a chance, you might learn a thing or two. That is if you dont think you know it all

Funny thing is this show was ORIGINALLY SLATED TO PREMIERE ON BET NETWORKS, SHE HAD CASTING CALLS FOR BET NETWORKS IN SOME MAJOR CITIES…..WEIRD THAT ALL OF A SUDDEN ITS ON E CHANNEL! HMMMMMMM

  • Jessica

Laurie Ann “Boom Kat Pow” Gibson needs to watch her racial comments, she needs to bring her.. white girl pixie stick makes me laugh, please take your ghetto “soul” back to the hood, how much education does it take to be a dancer? Her character makes her ugly

  • Ray

Laurie Ann is a racist, “don’t dance like a white girl?” since when does the color of your skin have anything to do with soul and talent. Get over your self!!!! Really your not all that.

  • Brooke

This show makes me sick. Laurieann Gibson uses racial slurs to continuously humiliate some of the girls and I’m trying to understand why this is acceptable. I was outraged when I watched it for the first time recently and it really makes me questions the integrity of the E! network for promoting it.

  • Dana

Laurieann’s use of constant racial comments is completely unacceptable. I had been a big fan of E! until I saw this show. She is hateful to the white people around her. It’s not right to make racist comments to or about black people, why is it okay when the victims are white?

  • Nancy

anybody know where to find audition locations?

  • Tim Rider

Yeah Laurieann is a racist. She is so arrogant as well, talking like her vocation is actually of importance etc.

Horrible racist lady. I guarantee if it was a white lady saying that there would be all kinds of groups talking
