Image Credit: MTVAnyone who watches The Hills knows star Heidi Montag and her mother, Darlene, have seen their relationship strained by Montag’s relationship with Spencer Pratt — and the reality star’s physical transformation after multiple plastic surgeries. Tonight, on The Hills, Darlene and daughter, Holly, talk about this difficult time and Darlene reveals that she feels as if she’s lost her daughter. “I just feel like she can’t live in two worlds and that she feels like she has to choose between us and Spencer,” Darlene tells Holly. She adds, “I haven’t slept for months. I had to go and get a prescription for sleeping pills just to be able to go to sleep at night to the point where I didn’t even know how I would make it another day. I’ve been mourning the loss of a child and, yeah, it hurts. It hurts more than I thought I could hurt. I can’t live like that. I have to know in my heart that I did everything I thought I could do.”
File this under: when reality shows turn sad. Will you tune in tonight to watch, PopWatchers? Has Heidi’s mom done all she could to repair this relationship? And how much longer until this whole saga just doesn’t quite feel like “entertainment” anymore?

Freak-show if ever there was one. . . Heidi needs two more surgeries – one to cut off the useless Spenser and one to sew her mouth shut
The fact that I’m commenting on this post with the phrase “NOBODY CARES” is sad in itself…
I’ve given up on the Hills because it’s not fun to watch people in need of serious psychological help. The City is way more entertaining.
I gave up on The Hills when Lauren Conrad left and all of the heart was sucked out of this trainwreck…but I do still like reading about it!
For the producers to think KC was a good replacement for Lauren…they must be dipping into Spencer’s medicine cabinet. Haven’t watched since LC walked out of the church last season.
I gave up on the….
Wait a minute.
I never even bothered watching this garbage.
Oh, well.
Hey, me too.
Then why are you here?
To keep you company, Michelle, since you seem to be in a minority (a very small minority) that apparently watches this crap.
Ooooh burrrrrrrn.
i thought heidi and spencer were done? was this filmed prior to their separation?
what an insult to all of us who have suffered the premature death of a child
