I thought the action was really good in Eclipse. I actually cringe through the action in Twilight and NM. The newborns and Riley and Victoria were a welcomed change to the cheesiness that came before it. It was nice to see.
As for this article, really EW?

Does this person watch any movies…at all? How did Darren get a job working at this company writing Eclipse is like The Seven Samurai? My film school instructors would laugh him back into whatever movie black hole he’s come from. Eclipse is a decent movie at best. But you cant compare it to a classic, any classic for that matter, there is just no grounds for it. He should go back to school and learn what real film making is and what it takes to tell a real story.

I sure hope Darren is a 17 year old intern.

    forget The Expendables??? you crazy???

I’m a Twilight fan, but please…stop trying to make more of it than it actually is!

Sure is easy to hate on someone when you’re using a pseudonym, isn’t it?

I don’t think anyone is trying to say that these films are classics in the making, and I’m pretty sure that’s what Darren said, but they are enjoyable. If someone can find a way to help me creatively explain why my boyfriend might want to go see it, I’m all for it.

Oh, and has anyone else noticed that the first people to ever post on a Twilight article are usually the people who hate the series? I’m pretty neutral in all of this, but someone’s gotta say it — if y’all detest it so much, why are you even commenting?

Keep feeling the love, people! Glad that mutual respect, thoughtfulness and good old open-minded discussion abounds on these comment boards.

Wendy, the haters are not merely commenting. Before they comment, they take the time to click on something they hate, take time to read the article, and then write out a reply. It’s a hilarious form of insanity to witness…until you’ve seen it a million times on these boards.

I thought it was the most male friendly by far. I have two, and I shouldnt have to add this but, straight male friends who were excited to go with me to watch! They enjoyed the added fighting and tension Eclipse brought to the table. They watched the first one because of girlfriends, but have viewed both the others due to their own interest.

I went to see the Twilight Eclipse movie at midnight the day it came out. There’s a twilight convention coming to Boston if anyone is interested.
I stumbled upon a very interesting movie that I’m following while I wait for Twilight Breaking Dawn.
It’s called The Incubus and it’s about a different type of vampire.
    It’s worth checking it out.

You called The Magnificent Seven meh!?! You can’t be a movie critic!!

  • TVDIVA

How the heck can you call the Magnificent Seven “meh”? That is the coolest western ever. Steve McQueen rocked the joint! Ok back to Eclipse. The action lasted all of five minutes. And the other 120 minutes was all romance. So I am not sure which film you saw and in what theater and dimension of reality.

Hey, Darren? You don’t use a hyphen w/words that end in -ly–the ly performs that function. Guess your editors were too busy meeting, saying OK, even tho we usually diss or ignore Twilight, lets get multiple mindless articles online to get hits. Arsehats.

“crying vampires who listen to emo music”? EMO MUSIC! They don’t listen to emo music. Wow. Anyways, I agree, I’ve seen alot of old movies and a couple of westerns and I see where Darren French is coming from. Of course he’s not saying they’re exactly alike, but the main story/ action plot is similar. I thought the action scenes were very cool, I loved how Riley was kind of screaming for his life while Seth dragged him away. And don’t forget, there were plenty of be-headings!
