Image Credit: Carin Baer/FoxGood news for Gleeks: EW has learned that not only has Oxygen nabbed the syndication rights to Glee with episodes beginning to air in 2013, but the network is also developing a reality companion series. Just last week, the much-rumored Glee reality series was thought to be dead, but it looks like Oxygen breathed (tee hee) some new life into the project. Details are sketchy in terms of the format of the reality show (as well as how much co-creator Ryan Murphy and the cast will be involved) but this unscripted show looks to bow sometime in 2011.
What do you think, PopWatchers? Will you watch a Glee reality series? Is it too much?

I have a hard time getting through regular Glee sometimes. So a reality series? No thanks. I was glad when I heard that Fox had killed it.
especially these last couple of episodes of glee almost had me turning off my tv….soo…reality show?….meh
I bet you didn’t see the last one of the season – to Regionals. A masterpiece!
Man, can you say overkill??? This is why Hollywood sucks, that get one hit and then milk it until nobody can stand it anymore.
Totally agree. I mean look at Miley Cyrus, the Jonas Brothers, High School Musical, etc. Things that started out not half bad until Hollywood decided to drive them into the ground.
I don’t get the Oxygen channel on my normal cable package and as much as I love Glee I’m not interested in a reality show and even if I was its not worth upgrading my cable package just to watch it
NO NO NO. Glee does not need a reality series. It would be pointless enough let alone on Oxygen. Ryan Murphy please put a stop to this madness. Less is more. Lets just focus on returning Fall 2010 with stronger episodes.
“Oh My God, please Ryan Murphy, DO something!!!”
Toooooo much! Shoot, I thought the book series was too much.
“but this unscripted show looks to bow sometime in 2011.” Right … reality TV isn’t scripted.
I’m saying this as a HUGE Glee fan: They are over-burning me with too much Glee. I have absolutely no chance to miss it now.
I love Glee, but I hate reality shows. The best thing about Glee is that it’s NOT a reality show! To
Ryan Murphy:If it isn’t broken,don’t fix it!!!
I totally agree, I HATE reality shows and love that Glee is not one. I LOVE Glee just the way it is…. well maybe a lot more Matthew Morrison on screen (he is GORGEOUS and SEXY), but other than it’s great.
Really?? Good news??. too much
I love the show but I am getting a really strong sense of shark jumping really quick if they don’t tone it down. Please don’t overexpose a really good show.
An amusing way to acknowledge your punny remark, Mr. Stack. If it’s any consolation to you, you have brought a smile to my face.
Glee seems to be going the Friends root (I’m waiting for the Coke campaign). I hope they realize what Friends did, less is more. Overexposure can kill a show.
Umm, I don’t remember Friends being “killed.” I distinctly remember Friends maintaining its popularity throughout all TEN seasons.
like what was said, there’s no word on what the format is for this reality show. so how do we know if this is in fact a “Glee” reality show like what was previously planned with Ryan Murphy and Fox involved? or if this is just more of a Glee-inspired reality show, where they follow an actual glee club?
Glee is the complete opposite of reality – completely staged and rehearsed, over and over, and put on for an unseen audience.
I feel like the overlap here will be, in the long run, smaller than they believe.
I am sooo glad I’m not the only one opposed to a “Glee” reality show. I love me some “Glee”, but a reality show would be overkill. High School Musical anyone?
Glee and Oxygen (one step away from being another Lifetime, but without their own movies) is an odd mix. The only thing I watch on Oxygen is DYAO, so they can count me out for a Glee reality show.
