I don’t know…I think it totally looks like they are in the Great Hall at the end. It looks like it’s been destroyed, though (as it should).
That’s definitely the courtyard, you can see the grass. But it looks like the roof of the Great Hall is caved in in the background, so maybe that’s why they’re outside? I don’t care really, the duel is at dawn which is all I care about.
I don’t know if it’s the great hall, but it does look like the book cover.
A lot of people are annoyed that Voldemort and Harry are alone, because there are supposed to be people fighting around them. I’m thinking everyone else will show up eventually. I like that they’re alone and that they’re on their knees.
True. I guess I didn’t think about the grass. They are definitely near the castle, however.
I think people get too hung up on it being exactly like the book. Let’s allow for a little creative freedom. I think it makes it a bit more exciting to not know exactly how it will play out (it’s the same with True Blood for me)!
wow I need to reread the book again. I’m rereading the entire series for the billionth time. but I remember the face off between voldemort and harry being in the forest. but again I haven’t read the book in a while so I could be wrong. honestly should be an epic movie either way.
Face off #1 (the penultimate battle, if you will) is in the forest (which we see at the very beginning of the trailer). But the final battle takes place in the great hall.
Absolutely right! 2 battles. Although the first isn’t a battle at all as Harry knows that Voldemort needs to kill him. That final battle in the Great Hall is going to be INTENSE!!
Where do you reckon they’re gonna split it? Me thinks when they’re in Bill/Fleurs cottage (im trying to leave spoilers out). Although now that i think of it that seems a bit too much for just one movie. In the forest, then? Before the whole mansion bit.

I think they may split it right when the trio get captured by the snatchers. DH part two will probably open when they’re being taken to Malfoy Manor, so it will be symmetrical with Dh part one, which also opens at Malfoy Manor.
That’s my theory at least.

I kind of want to be surprised though. If I know where the split is, I will be expecting it the whole time.

I hope that’s where the split is, that would be a great cliffhanger for the first movie!
But I heard online that Dobby will be in part one, meaning that we’ll see his death and the split will be in the cottage, maybe it ends with the gang deciding to break into Hogwarts and part 2 opens with them about to commit their heist?
