Neil Patrick Harris confirmed for 'A Very Harold & Kumar Christmas'

Harold-Kumar-Neil-PatrickImage Credit: Jaimie TruebloodA rep for Neil Patrick Harris confirmed to EW that America’s favorite dancer/Dr./hallucinogenics enthusiast will be back for 2011′s A Very Harold & Kumar Christmas, which counts a waffle-making robot as one of its other main characters and is totally being filmed in a Michigan mall. We thought he died after Beverly D’Angelo shot him in the back outside a brothel, but a secret clip during the end credits suggested otherwise.

An early script suggested Kelly Ripa should cameo alongside NPH as the co-host of a television Christmas special, but Ripa has not yet been confirmed for the film. Either way, Harris will really need to step up his game from ecstasy and mushrooms. I don’t really know any other drugs, so you tell me which one NPH should sample next.

Try lokking it up under ALTERNATE spellings, pinhead. All spellings are just trying to sound out words that predate writing anyway.

I had no idea about that ending clip…I mean, he could have come back as a Christmas Angel if he HAD died, I suppose.

I think this Harold & Kumar is going to be one too many. It probably wont do so well in theaters…

    • Kylie

I think the last one was one two many. Although it did have Danneel Harris in it which is always a good thing.

  • drugs are bad, mmm kay

I dunno. The first one was hillarious but the second was hit and miss.

Yeah, the first one is so classic…. I can’t even tell you, it is one of my favorite movies!! My friends and family thought i was a total stoner for loving the first movie, but I couldn’t stop laughing when he fantasized about that bad of weed being his wife…!! LOL!! and riding a F@ing cheetah… I mean , it is SO over the top, it was awesome… and NPH, Doogie freaking Howser, a druggie in it– totally hilarious. BUT the second one, I had anticipated it being even better, and it was hit and miss. I’d only do a third movie if it had a super script…

      • Katyo

Ha! You just described all my favorite parts of the first one. I still tear up with laughter thinking of Kumar and his ‘wife’. I think the second movie would have been great if it had actually been set in Amsterdam rather than the stupid Guantanamo garbage. Let’s hope the 3rd one redeems them a bit.

It has to be a halucinogen or upper.. We can’t have NPH all junked out of his head.. But heres an Idea, maybe he’s into what Harold and Kumar are into, although I don’t consider it a drug.

    • wow

i think everyone else in the world that is not a stoner would disagree. it is difentely considered a drug as it fits into the catagory of having many long term negative life-threatening phisical and pshyocalogical effects. sorry for the spelling i am tired.

Yeah, whatever. So do cigarettes and liquor but they are legal.

NPH is always key. This movie is being filmed very close to where I live in suburban Detroit. Apparently the producers were asking people in a very upscale neighborhood if they could strip the leaves from their trees for $2000 per house, so it would look like winter. No one agreed. Also, that Santa set at the mall is the one that they use every Christmas.

Since the Somerset Collection is a VERY high end Mall with all of the really expensive stores, I guess they’re going for a more “high brow” look?

  • Mia

Personally, I think it would be cool to re-unite NPH’s with his “lost love” Tashonda. Didn’t he mention that they may have a baby as well?

    • MS. VYXSIN

yeah that would be a great idea!! and he should drink peyote, thats the best! yee!!!

  • petek

    crack. definitly crack.

  • Alliee

i agree with stephanie. the 2nd was not as good as the 1st, but it was decent. hopefully the 3rd one will be great! i’ll still see it. bring back rob corddry!! he was hilarious in the 2nd one

  • Nick B

How did I not hear that they were filming at Somerset Mall in Troy, Michigan? I totally would have been there, I only live 15 minutes away and I used to work there too! So bummed!

    • darclyte

I wonder if they’re still filming there? Couldn’t hurt to go and find out.

  • rob

    awesome

  • Jay

Let’s hope it goes back to the amiably goofy humor of the original. Part 2 was not funny in the least…

  • Tony

Spoiler ALert: Didnt He die at the 2nd one?

    • MS. VYXSIN

no in the ending credits, he doesnt die. some people dont wait for the very end.

  • Matt

The second one was absolutely better on repeat viewing. I thought it was ok in theaters, but laughed a lot more watching at home the second time. I’ve never smoked week in my life and yet the first one ranks up there in my all time favorite comedies.

I’m down with a third one but I honestly think it should just be DVD. I’m not shelling out $11+ bucks for comedies anymore. Although the first one did 23M worldwide on a 9M budget, and the second did 43 on a 12M budget, so the movies are profitable.
