Ever since Kate Gosselin got booted off Dancing with the Stars, rumors have been flying that for her next television gig, she will be playing the role of eligible singleton on an ABC dating show. Just today E! online posted a denial from the network. And yet here we are mere hours later and Ryan Seacrest is taking the rumor to new heights on his radio show, saying that Gosselin will be the next Bachelorette. He brought it up with his guest, Bachelor and Bachelorette host Chris Harrison, who said the show had never approached her about it, then added, “She’s a lovely woman, as nice as can be. It would be a great show. What guy would have what it takes to just even walk in the door and say, ‘Yeah, I’m gonna give this a shot’?” Seacrest then got the franchise’s creator Mike Fleiss on the line, and he seemed less enthralled with the idea than Harrison. “It’s kind of interesting. I never thought about it.” He went on to say that the only way it would work would be as a special, lest they “jump the shark.” A rep for TLC (home of Kate Plus 8) authorized to speak for Gosselin calls the rumors “not true.” An ABC spokesperson confirms there’s “no truth to it.”
Whew. Kate Gosselin going on televised dates and handing out roses to a pool of eligible single men? I have a pretty high threshold for trash TV, but I’d have to draw the line here. Should the laws of the universe against fame-seeking overkill suddenly implode and this scenario became a reality, would you tune in?

Unfortunately there are so many deluded women who glom on to the so-called “struggling” (now)single mother as something worthy of admiration/support. Just proof positive (along with JShore, Hills, Kartrashians, and all the truly useless reality crap) that there is a lot to worry about in the IQ level of the viewers in this country….

I’ve never watched The Bachelor, nor have I ever watched her own reality show. That being said her as The Bachlorette would be hallarious. What kind of submissive men would come out of the S&M dungeons to court this woman. I swear that I would tune in just to see the men who would arrive…..in full Mr. Slave garb preferrably.
I’ve never watched her show or the bachelor – but Jen does have a point. I’d just read the recaps on EW though, not watch the trainwreck.
No way in hell! Couldn’t stand her on Dancing With The Stars, can’t stand her now. Ryan stop with all this “junk” talk. That woman is a train wreck and no man alive would survive with her. It use to be poor Kate, now it is poor Jon. OMG……….I shudder at the thought of this even being suggested. She needs to go away, far away…….doesn’t any other country want her?

I, for one, would find this a fascinating experiment. I’d rather see a straight-up dating show though (“100 Dates with Kate”)…she has so many objectionable personality traits, this could be really humorous.

I would not tune in. As an avid Bachelor/ette watcher, Kate would make me not watch. No guy applies to be a suitor on the show to get a package deal of eight kids and an overbearing hag. Maybe one kid…maybe an overbearing woman in the end but not HER.

I am so tired of people glamorizing this woman, she has eight children and she should be home taking care of them not pictures in every magazine on the newsstands. Just get somewhere and sit down Kate, personally, I am sick of looking at you get rich for doing nothing.

Exactly! People here will say they won’t watch but they sooo will! I don’t like her either but it would be too fascinating not to see what kind of guys would show up. It would be one of the most highly watched Bachelor/Bachelorette’s ever! Sad but true!
