Would the Twilight series be as sexy had Edward given in to Bella’s desire sooner? Robert Pattinson doesn’t think so. ”Anyone who likes the books, they all think they’re really sexy. They just like that moment before [sex] … the kind of tipping point before it goes over,” he told Nightline in an interview that aired last night. “I mean, everybody likes that. That’s the best part, for a relationship.”
The man speaks the truth. It’s why the sexiest moment of any Twilight film will always be those seconds when Edward and Bella are leaning in for a kiss. Still, he said you’ve got to seal the deal sometime. ”If there was a hard and fast decision by both [Bella and Edward] saying, ‘Yeah we’re going to remain virgins our entire lives, it’s never gonna happen,’ I don’t think it would be as popular a series.” Also very true.
As for the rest of the interview, Pattinson articulated, rather well, why he doesn’t talk about his personal life and whether it involves an offscreen romance with Kristen Stewart. “In logical terms, if you’re just walking down the street and every single stranger on the street knew your business and came up and felt the need to comment on it, you’d just be like, ‘Shut Up! I’m gonna kill you,’” he said, laughing. “It’s exactly the same mentality… I don’t really want to try to sell it either. Maybe if I was selling it, I’d talk about it more.”
He also addressed how his acting has improved since the first film — he worked hard on it, by toning down his hair. He jokingly endorsed taking half a Valium if you’re nervous (the person he was staying with when he auditioned for Edward had one on her bedside table, and he stole it). And he explained why, in a journal he kept on the Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire set, he wrote that he didn’t want all of his good luck to come at once: “I just thought, if too many good things happen, then you’re gonna die at 30,” he said, again laughing. “I didn’t want that to happen.” But good things have continued to happen, interviewer Chris Connelly pointed out. “Yeah, so, I probably am gonna die at 30,” Pattinson joked. “It’s God saying, ‘Hey, you shouldn’t have asked for too much.’”
Do you agree with Pattinson about Twilight foreplay? Or do you wish Bella and Edward had gotten busy before Breaking Dawn? Let this important debate play out in the comments below!

I agree with him. Three books of foreplay, and the knowledge of how powerful he is and what he COULD do, and the knowledge of how desireable Bella is to him and what she COULD make him do is what makes the books so sexy and popular.
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
who cares
If you don’t care, why are you reading this article and then taking the time to add a comment…??? I’m just saying…
u r so right. if you didnt care, why r u reading? people hate to admit whe they like something or they are all haters
Don’t be a douche
apparently you care, because you took the time to read the article and then took the time to leave a lame comment about it.
So inn other words you cared enough to see what it was all about. Stop trying to be cool behind the screen, cause it just makes look like a bigger dork than you normally would be.
I’m not a fan of the movies, but I don’t knock others for their taste, because they might find what I like to be dumb.
So to all though ones that enjoy the movie, have fun and forget the idiots that got nothing better to do than talk worthless trash.
Shaz, go do something more productive with your so called life than comment on something you don’t care about. We don’t care what you have to say!!
Seriously, why would you give Shaz the attention he/she was obviously seeking? There are like 45 comments ALONE replying to the TWO WORDS Shaz said. GET OVER IT AND IGNORE IT!”Zomg Get off TEh BoarDz!” Like he is going to go back and read what people said, please…
Good point, why should we care that Shaz doesn’t care?
OMG, Shaz, please don’t burst the 13-year-olds’ bubbles. As you can see, their worlds revolve around the question of whether or not fictional characters end up “doing it.” Ugh.
I agree with Rob’s assessment about Edward and Bella definitely! I also thought he summed up his need for privacy in his personal life very well.
Bella is just a movie star… She should feel blessed, that she was picked for the movie, otherwise Robert proberly never would of dated her… He should try an orginal girl.
I TOTTALLY AND COMPLETELY AGREE WITH ROB..it really does make the whole thing sexy and..and..heart wrenching.
I thought he came off as very likeable and normal as one can be during this interview. Ridiculous how some of his joking comments are already being misinterpreted on the web – “Robert says he will die before 30!” I hope he keeps that good nature about him and stays a nice guy. Must be trying at times.
I agree! He says seems to say what he thinks! I think it is great that he doesn’t comment on his love live! It is really none of our business!
He seems so shy and down to earth when you see him interview, I agree with the build up being the best part, can’t wait for movies 4 & 5
For the most part, Rob gives very good natural interviews. He’s a nice kid. I hope “Hollyweird” doesn’t change him. He’s genuinely into the work. He’s talented (actor, musician) and intelligent, Oh my, what a combination! He’s got a great sense of humor. He just may be the next Johnny Depp!
Very nice interview!!!
Love him!!
Once Twilight is done, so is his career.
Your a jealous douche bag!!
Yes I definitely agree with Robert – it does make it more exciting – cannot wait until Breaking Dawn after the Wedding…….
Feathers
“Why am I covered in feathers?”
Not sure how exactly they’ll handle that particular moment and still maintain the PG-13.
@ambient lite
They’ll fade to black, just like they did in the book.
Also Robert is an excellent actor -he seems like such a sincere guy -good heart – beautiful voice – hope he makes a CD soon of his songs – and Robert you deserve the sucess – just don’t let it change you
I actually believe if they are together (R&K) that they should just come out and admit it. The longer they try to hide whatever is going on the more the paparazzi will keep spewing crap about their existent/non-existent relationship.
They have no privacy NOW, so all of this trying to deflect and hide makes no sense. You have nothing to hide if you ARE indeed a couple.
So what is the big deal. Maybe they should grow up and be actual adults and own up to what’s going on in their lives. Adults do this, it is nothing new. Brad and Angelina came out and THEY were in a relationship while he was STILL married. Now THAT is something a person would try to hide, but they didn’t. They behaved like adults and did what had to be done. You’re in the public eye, this is your job. I’m not saying you have to bare your soul and what not, but if they came out, this madness will cool down if not stop altogether. *shakes head sadly*
I’m SO sick and tired of tabloid mags and emails filled with assumptions and speculations and lies about them. Not a fan of her, although I am a fan of him. So this annoys me to no end. You try to avoid the mayhem but eventually SOMEONE makes mention of them and it’s in your face even if you don’t want to hear or see anything about this situation.
First, Angie and Brad did NOT own up to it while he was married. They never talked about it till they were living together.
Next, while I agree it shouldnt be a secret, coming out and telling people will NOT stop the paps from making crap up. Instead of “are they, arent they” it will be Robs cheating, Kristens Cheating” every other week, and frankly who the heck cares.
Hello…. it is entertainment. just remember all the PR Summit has been working on. The more gossips r out there, the better. So whether or not they are dating, it is always good to keep the smoke. I personally prefer RPatz’s personality than KS. Handle the fame light and easy so you don’t get hurt. To be or not to be.
Bella dies in the end…HA! Ruined it for all of youuuuuuuu!!!!
I could only wish…:P
I agree. By the end of “Eclipse” you want them to just get it over with already, but it made sense to have them wait until BD. First of all, if they had done it then, I don’t think there would’ve been any question about who Bella would choose. Second of all, it takes all of Edward’s strength just to kiss her and not want to go all vampire on her, so it’s not like they could’ve jumped into bed whenever they wanted.
Bella’s such a d.t. I would have given it up by the second book. ha
