There are so many! But, my favorite would have to be his portrayal of ‘John Q’.

Denzel in Training Day- he hadn’t done a role like that, and excelled at it.

  • Cristi

Training Day is by far the best because it was his first time playing the bad guy. King Kong had nothing on him.

He was great as Denzel Washington Detective Alonzo Harris in Training Day.

  • Frankie

Man on Fire is my favorite!

  • bill norris

easy rawlins from Devil in a Blue Dress.

  • bamalam

how about whats his name from Man on Fire?

  • elizabeth june

Denzel as Bleek Gilliam in MO’ Betta Blues

  • Shelby Rogers

Philadelphia is my choice. Mr. Washington was so perfect in how he acted toward a homosexual male in that time frame. His fear and is doctor suggesting that he might be Gay for asking all his questions about AIDS just blew me away! That he grows to like Andrew and defend him court just shows how much compassion Denzel Washington can show in face emotionally it was very moving. That he overcomes his fear and bigotry of homosexuals in the movie is an awesome performance and probably changed attitudes and lives after seeing it. I thought Denzel Washington should have gotten an Oscar for that alone. That is one handsome man too! FYI yes I am a woman.
