'Late Night Liars': Watch the first six minutes of tonight's premiere

Remember when we told you Henson Alternative was producing Late Night Liars, a game show in which “two hapless human contestants face off against a panel of four ‘celebrity’ puppets who are half-sauced and telling half-truths”? Well, it premieres tonight at 11 p.m. ET on GSN. Watch the first six minutes after the jump for a Jonas Brother castration joke and the contestants’ first category: “Cities of the world that should have their own pride parade.” Though I do enjoy the Paul Lynde-ness of William A. Mummy, it’s Cashmere Ramada who proves the scene-stealer, showing you just how far this show will go when another puppet, Sir Sebastian Simian, gives the answer “Dike, Iowa.”

Wow, this looks awful. Thankfully only watched 6 minutes of this.

Looks fun! I found the show’s site, PMZ.tv . good stuff, funny twitter channels. I’ll def check it out tonight!

Is it just me or does the Weasel sound like Mickey Mouse?

Good concept in theory… horribly executed. Add this next to the pile of Carnie Wilson episodes waiting to be burned!

Not that anyone was wondering, but Dike, IA is a real town. My hometown is about 15 miles away and I was stunningly far into my teens when I realized why it made people snicker.

I’ve always been bothered by t-shirts, youtube vids, cartoons, etc. that portray Muppet characters doing unsavory things. It’s a cheap laugh and totally goes against the spirit of Jim Henson’s vision and the Muppets themselves. It breaks my heart to see the Henson company capitalizing on that.

    • David

Sorry Eyeball – Henson was absolutely keen on making puppets accepted for adult audiences. He tried hard to break away from the label of being a child’s puppeteer. Since Henson Alternative is being headed up by Jim’s own son Brian, I have no doubt he is doing the family business proud. It makes puppetry relevant regardless of who it offends. Many people actually love it.

Agreed. When “Saturday Night Live” premiered in 1975, some episodes featured an “adult” set of Muppets (Skred et al) in sketches with more adult humor. It’s not a foreign concept to the Henson people.

I’m really digging this! Dirty Puppets, drinking and Larry Miller, 3 things that will make this hilarious!

  • Wordsmith

I find it to be freaking hilarious, you people need to get a sense of humor and stop taking everything so personally. Also an excellent way to make fun of pompous hollywood brats that get away with anything!

  • JL

LOL!, I will watch anything with Larry Miller, he is the man.

  • Jacob

    That was terrible.

  • Madd

Larry Miller is always full of win.

  • Pat

I wanted to like this …but it was pretty bad and repetitious.

  • Z

Have a sense of humor, losers.

  • Flyer

I was so very hopeful, and then so very disappointed. Larry Miller tries hard, but it’s certainly not “Avenue Q,” is it. This makes me want to curse FOX all over again for cancelling the incredibly funny “Greg the Bunny.” I’ll take Warren the Ape over Sir Sebastian Simian any day.

  • BoozeBud

I liked it, thought it was a good show and really like how edgy the characters are
