“You, uh, slide the stories under the door?” On last night’s Daily Show, Olivia Munn attempted to report on the plight of Vietnamese fishermen in the Gulf of Mexico in her very first Daily Show segment as Senior Asian Correspondent. But Jon Stewart’s merry band of special, deranged correspondents thwarted our favorite Attack of the Show co-host and the whole gang ended up having a Race Jokes Sunset Party. The best kind! “I’m not here to replace anyone,” Munn assured her detractors and the audience. “I’m not the new always-pregnant lady [Samantha Bee], I’m not the creepy guy that smells like Bacardi and corn dogs [Jason Jones], and no one’s forgetting about (hushed tone) the blacks [Wyatt Cenac in the middle and Larry Wilmore, who stayed away].” Half of Aasif Mandvi (or sometimes just his disembodied head) also felt threatened, because he’s so Asian, he’s ninja.

I do love me some Olivia.
Well said… well said…
Love Jason Jones!
I loved Sam Bee’s comment about having 3 children in 2 years. Sam and Jason are comic gold!
Please ask Olivia what pie related stunt she will do next to top her famous and fantastic pie jump from last year?
I loved her small role in date night. Is she still planning on pursuing feature films?
this reminded me of Ryan Phillipe on SNL: funny cast manically tries to distract you from the fact that the new person is just there for the Maxim crowd.
agreed. I mean, I’m not saying she’s talentless. But geez, the rest of the correspondents put her to shame, and just knowing that they could have hired someone several times as funny feels like an insult. I love The Daily Show, but this is a bummer move.
I have watched her on G4 Attack of Show, and she is genuinely funny and witty. Much more than just a pretty face. I could def tell she was nervous, and rightfully so, it was after all her audition. Quit hating on what you don’t have. Talent, looks, and charm.
is Olivia Munn going to be a series regular?
Well, as regular as you can be on the daily show.
I love Olivia Munn, but I hope all this show hopping doesn’t affect her hosting gig with Attack of the Show.
How does this work with AOTS, especially since she lives in LA? Do you do a show everyday for a lesser network, or work sometimes for a higher profile show, but on the other side of the country?
Um, so you totally forgot that Wyatt Cenac is black, who Olivia was referring to when she made that line. HE WAS STANDING RIGHT THERE!!!
“I’m so asian, I’m a ninja!” ROFL and Olivia’s comment that Aasif’s asian…sort of. Too funny!
As far as G4 women go, I prefer Morgan Webb from X-Play over Olivia Munn… I think she’s funnier AND hotter.
gross…
She’s not even Vietnamese. I’d take Aasif “Ninja” Mandhvi as my Asian Correspondent over Olivia anyday.
this and is she even asian?
Her mother is Chinese and was raised in Vietnam, so yes.
This is a poor move by the Daily Show. I love the show, but Olivia has no where near the talent that everyone else on that show has. She’s an actress, not a comedian, there’s a huge difference.
Dude I am so psyched about this. I totally dig Olivia Munn. She is, like, really hot. What is the Daily Show?
