Beastie Boys' Adam Yauch picks up William S. Burroughs doc

Oscilloscope Laboratories, the film company run by Beastie Boy Adam Yauch, has picked up William S. Burroughs: A Man Within, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The documentary on the late Beat author is now set for a theatrical release this fall. Judging by the trailer, which you can check out below, this movie looks pretty cool. You’ve got everyone from John Waters to David Cronenberg raving about Burroughs’ influence — or, in Iggy Pop’s case, babbling some wordless but heartfelt gibberish in an attempt to do the same. (Maybe that’s just how Iggy talks these days, who knows.) THR says the film is soundtracked by Patti Smith and Sonic Youth, which is even more awesome.

Any Burroughs and/or Beasties fans out there excited for this meeting of the minds?
