This weekend, Ke$ha attended the MTV VMAJ Awards in Tokyo and, in total Lady Gaga style, she wasn’t going to miss the opportunity to make a statement on the red carpet. Oh, but what a statement it was! The ornate feathered piece (left) was part Native American, part goth, and part nuisance for whoever was sitting behind her.
But perhaps Gaga wasn’t her only inspiration: Days before, Sarah Jessica Parker turned up in a massive Philip Treacy head piece (right) for the London premiere of Sex and the City 2. Maybe she took a cue from her Treacy hat from the 2008 London premiere of the first film. The lime green number now looks harmless compared to this more recent Bride of Frankenstein-esque piece.
But it looks like SJP has a thing for kooky head decor. In the SATC sequel, she also dons a lace crown-headband. Word to the wise: Just because it’s from Bendels does not make it okay!

Not really. SJP has been rocking the red carpet for 20 years in all sorts of cutting edge clothing. Lady Gaga has been around for 2 years.
Good point. A better comparison would be who’s prettier. Forget about their attitudes and likeability factor. I say Kesha is prettier. SJP has been very fortunate that nobody focuses on her facial features.
I never thought I’d write the following words: I like Kesha’s better. (I didn’t write spell her name with the $ as a small form of rebellion.)
In that picture, SJP’s looks like a shiny black unkempt afro plopped atop her head.
I loved Ke$ha’s headress when Cher wore it twenty-five years ago.
Ridiculous… both of them.

Neither is as bad as the headpiece SJP wears in the new movie at the wedding. AWFUL!

Kesha is like some girl at the mall who decides she’s going to imitate Gaga, but without the irony or urban cool, or the dance hooks or the wardrobe, or the charm. Sad, sad, sad. Wasn’t this girl stumbling around SNL in a glitter flag costume? Weird and sad. Very sad.
I’m totally and completely infatuated with Ke$ha, so she can get away with anything as far as I’m concerned.
At least SJP’s is channeling Carrie.
Ke$ha is simply sending “Dead Flowers” to the man she loves. Me. Been doing it for many years, but I do not see so well, and quit listening to music made by young women five years ago. She caught me by surprise. The activity of pure, unadulterated genius. Everything is in the public realm. It explains her actions with respect to the path she has taken. Nothing else does.
