Image Credit: Jason LaVeris/FilmMagic.comJerry Seinfeld will be making his stage-directing debut Off-Broadway with fellow comedian Colin Quinn’s upcoming show Long Story Short, Variety reports. Apparently the show will be focusing on “2,000 years of human civilization and the rise and fall of its great empires,” so it’s probably good that they’re giving themselves a good eight weeks to do it.
The show will start on June 19, but there’s no word on whether Quinn will be delivering his 75-minute long monologue in a historically accurate puffy shirt, or whether he’ll discuss the expansive and powerful empire of the Moops.

How can someone so good be paired with someone who is so bad??
Colin Quinn is great. I’ve always thought he was hilarious. The problem is he can’t really translate his comedy into acting. But whenever I see him on talk shows or roasts, just hanging out and talking he’s funny. He had a show on comedy central a few years ago called tough crowd and it was perfect for him. Of course those idiots had to go and cancel it though.
Moors!
Moops!
Oh man, I used to love Quinns show on Comedy Central, Tough Crowd. He’s a funny man.
No, thanks. I don’t know who’s worse: Colin Quinn or Carlos Mencia!
People go to the theatre to see a story, not a monologue, no matter how tricked up with special effects and multi-media embellishments. Moreover, the topic seems like something pulled out of drawer from a couple decades ago. Nonetheless, Mr. Quinn is a very funny and talented performer and I’d be delighted to be proved wrong when it opens. Hope Lisa reviews it.
