Very sad news for us. I had a chance to meet Dennis one time at the Love Ride. Told him i looked like him, he pointed from his hip like he had a gun, and said–Brother–. I also shot him riding with Peter on the freeway that same day leading the love ride. I last saw him when he got this star on Hollywood Blvd. as he was leaving he got in on the passenger side of a black Suburban, they put the seat belt on him, he looked straight at me, I was standing at the front bumper–i shot him the peace sign, he smiled and threw up his hand to wave. Powerful for me..all the poparrazzi were on the other side…thanks for the trip Dennis……

God bless you Mr. Hopper. I never had the pleasure of meeting you in real life, but you left a legacy behind through the movies you made to live on for generations in the future to watch and enjoy! God speed to you! I am sadden to know we have lost another angel, but take comfort in knowing that you are in the greatest place in the world, the hands of the Lord! :) May God bless your family and give them peace!!

Great actor. I’ll tell you some work of his that will never be appreciated properly was his role as a Pentagon colonel on “E-Ring”. Some episodes were a bit cliched but later on in the show he started to shine. In an episode where a mission to rescue men behind enemy lines is being dismissed, Hopper is told that ‘he doesn’t understand’. Outraged Hopper yells at them ‘I was in Vietnam! I spent 3 years sitting in a hot, tiny, bamboo cage! Don’t tell me I don’t understand! You don’t!’.

Dennis Hopper is,was and always will be the original Easy Rider.
He was the starting point in many young hearts, for the love of the open road.He gave hope, courage, and laughs to a life-style many choose.
Peace and love to you Dennis,as you Ride the last Ride across the heavens………..

My Science project was one of Mr Hopper’s first films after his rehab in the 80′s. He played a science teacher that was obvious an product of the 60′s. “You can call me Bob,the pigs call me Mr Roberts”,was one of the funniest lines in the movie. The plot in which one of his students finds a device that was from a ufo that allows time travel, has Hopper being sucked into the thing and at the end of the movie,he remerges looking like Billy from Easy Rider. Not a great movie, but notable for him kind of sending up his own image.
