  • The Life of Pi adaptation, directed by Ang Lee, might be put on hold, thanks to budget concerns. I can think of 3.14 reasons why this sucks. [L.A. Times]
  • Arnold Schwarzenegger and Steven Spielberg accompanied the unveiling of the rebuilt Universal Studios backlot that was destroyed in a fire in 2008. Says lot, “I told you I’d be bock.” [THR]
  • Warner Bros. has set a Dec. 16, 2011 release date for Robert Downey Jr.’s second sequel in two years: Sherlock Holmes 2. Yet The Shaggy Dog 2 still hangs in the balance. [THR]
  • The Daytime Emmy Awards is honoring Dick Clark for his achievements during the primetime telecast hosted by Regis Philbin. [THR]

I really hope Life of Pi gets made – the book was great, and seemed like it could be made into a compelling film.

your Life of Pi joke doesn’t work because Life of Pi isn’t about the mathematical Pi(3.14) it is about a guy whose name is Pi.

Can’t wait for yet another opportunity to swoon over RDJr… I have been crushin’ on him since I was 14. I’ll consider the next Sherlock Holmes film a Christmas present to me! :)

Rebecca you are incorrect it was a witty joke….Pi relates himself to the number 3.14 many times in the novel. Did you even read it?

  • Aubrey

Actually, the comment does work because the idea of “pi” is use throughout the book. Pi was at sea for 227 days, right? 22/7 = 3.14…
