Does anyone else just…kinda not like Will Schuester? Kate Ward and I discovered the other day that we both love Glee but cringe whenever “Schue” pops up – especially if he’s delivering an “assignment” to his underlings, talking to Emma, or pre-, post-, (or worst of all) mid-rap. And that hair! And his nickname is “Schue!” We just can’t. Maybe our allegiance to Sue Sylvester is to blame for our non-tolerance, or maybe Will Schuester is just lame.
Anyway, Matthew Morrison was on The Tonight Show last night discussing his shirtless photo shoot for Vogue and getting called a “lame-ass” by Jay Leno because he wanted to greet President Obama in his native tongue. Watch the video below, but be sure to vote first. Happy Friday!

I think he’s so annoying in the show, especially when he’s trying to act so righteous, even when he’s not so good himself.
Yeah, sometimes his character is like a hypocrite. I have never been able to warm up to his character at all. I think he has a lovely voice (when not rapping), but not much else to offer
I thought I’m the only one too! Don’t like him at all.
Yes, totally. I kept cracking up when he was trying to inspire NPH’s character to leave his poor Glee kids alone – or else they’ll turn into black holes OMG. And then being all self-righteous about turning down a part in a community theatre production so he could save the Glee club. Ugh.
I’m a fan of Glee, but I do cringe from embaressment at least once an episode, usually because of Will Schuester. How masichistic does Matthew Morrison have to be to continue to do incredibly cheesy 90′s White Boy Raps. Next week’s venture into “funky town” might be the straw that breaks the horribly cringe-worthy camel’s back.
Really? Some of the kids are making worst decisions than him. I think people are annoyed by him because some of his performances are corny. He can sing, and I like him, but sometimes his performances remind of The Backstreet Boys circa 1998. I didn’t want to see that then and I don’t want to see it now.
I thought I was the only one who couldn’t stand Will (Will not Matthew Morrison)… I hate when he starts preaching about the importance of the arts when he really just wants to get into Emma’s pants… and somebody said that the kids make more mistakes than him… THAT’S BECAUSE THEY’RE KIDS!!! he’s a teacher and an adult! geez!
HATE him??? For shame!! He is awesome!
Completely agree! What’s with all this hate? I’ve loved him since day. Maybe because he sort of reminds me of Justin Timberlake, lol. Besides, his character is going through a transitional period (with his divorce), so he’s bound to make some mistake here and there. I’m still rooting for him and Emma!!!
oh, well that explains it. I can’t stand Timberlake, either.
I don’t get it. I luv Mr. Schue! he’s genuine, honest, awesome, helpful, good looking, and a great singer and dancer!
I thought I was the only one who couldn’t stand Schue. I just find him incredibly annoying.
He’s a good singer, but it’s a bit annoying when he sings in the show because it comes off as taking the limelight away from the kids.
I agree. Don’t mind him that much but I cringe anytime he sings/raps/dances. His Dream On with NPK was good but please no more Ice Ice Baby or Bust a Move
He’s a great singer – I’ve seen him on Broadway 3 times. But he must never, never rap again.
While I don’t necessarily hate Schue, I agree that it’s weird when he sings instead of the kids. Kind of like showing them up, isn’t it? Like a “here’s how it’s done.” I was in choir in middle school and if I had to listen to my choir teacher self-indulgently show off how much better she was at singing than us, I probably would’ve skipped class even more than I already did
Why are you all acting as if it’s Matthew Morrison himself trying to upstage the ‘kids’? He sings and dances according to the script he’s given. Also, how many teachers do you know that are perfect? You can try and teach someone life lessons even if your own life isn’t perfect. Also, it’s a frakking show.
He should not rap anymore, please Murphy, give him something else to sing!
MATTHEW MORRISON SUCKS!!! I agree that he shouldnt rap. He doesnt listen to what hte kids want. He is acting as if he owns the club, not theirs (as in the kids). He sucks at acting mad, He tries hard to be ‘cool’
I hate schue
I irrationally hate him with the caveat that I think Matthew Morrison is doing the best he can with the material he’s given.
Agree with you, Hannah. I do hate Schue (what a completely useless teacher!) but I don’t hold the character against Morrison.
And yes, the abs are spectacular but Morrison rarely takes his shirt off on the show so they don’t help me dislike the character any less.
That said, I enjoy hating him because he makes a great punching bag for Sue and there is nothing I love more than her snide remarks about his hair.
Yes! Thank you! I think Matthew Morrison is a very talented guy but I feel like I cringe once an ep because of something the writers give him to say (or sing) as Mr. Schue. I don’t think they know what to do with him (or they’ve gotten too lazy to try to come up with something). I think Will has a lot of potential that’s being squandered.
So I don’t irrationally hate the character but I totally see why some might.
Will schuester SUCKS!!! He shouldnt rap, shouldnt try to be cool, stop thinking about himself, should let the kids decide, stop trying to win emma back, should run in front of a bus, and should end up all alone, for cheating on emma and not thinking about why terri did what she did.
As you may have surmised by my name, I am totally the opposite. I could just watch that man dance around and sing “Thong Song”, “Don’t Stand So Close To Me/Young Girl” or anything with the Acafellas and be a very happy girl. Wow, I’m really getting old….
Ditto! I just loved it when he sang “Don’t Stand So Close To Me/Young Girl”. I listed to this one over and over again.
If I were in H.S. and had a teacher who looked like that, I’d fall for him big time.
Totally agree!!!
talk about a slow news day.Hate Will Shuester? On planet WTF, maybe.
Where do i buy my ticket?
I feel as if i’d fit right in among the folk of planet WTF.
Logical people who can’t stand Schue
Thanks for Dan. This guy is insufferable and by far the worst part of the show. I knew I could count on Annie for getting it right.
I like him, but his character is becoming really annoying now. Hopefully Emma’s new dentist boyfriend will make him snap out of it.
Still, I can’t hate Matthew Morrison. I’ve had a crush on him since South Pacific.

Second “Madd” is a troll.
I think Will is a confused soul and he can be irritating at times but I don’t hate him. I wish he’d get more balls when it comes to Sue and the Principal, though. He’s getting better, but he needs more work. He should also be a more consistent roll model to the kids—he’s kinda a hypocrite at times! Other than that, I love him!
It’s the hair and his big doofy face.
YES! My wife and I were just talking about this in the car this morning. He’s a terrible role model for the kids, has zero control over their inappropriate in-class actions and, most of all, comes across as consistently insincere. I feel like every scrap of dialogue he has is delivered like a shallow pick-up line in a singles bar. It’s just creepy and weird.
He should not fight like he does wit Sue in front of the kids, completely unprofesional!
I think his wardrobe is what they’ve been having Ryan wear (as a joke) on The Office.
I love him. It wouldn’t be “Glee” without Mr. Schue (the abs definitely help too).
Umm…yes! Thank you for pointing this out. Schuester picks up zero cool points for me and, honestly, when he gets angry it looks like he’s about to hit someone (not in a badass way, but in an “you’re kinda abusive” way)…it’s rather terrifying.
I was rather concerned that he was going to hit Terri when he found out about the baby. A deception on that scale is psychologically and emotionally devastating, so to me his reaction is understandable.
Um, no. He’s gorgeous with an angel voice and he has PRETTY CURLY HAIR. And the abs certainly do not hurt. Golddigger was the first Glee single I purchased and I don’t regret that one bit.
