TBS has just announced that Andy Richter (left), Reggie Watts, and several of Conan O’Brien’s writers will be heading up a one-hour comedy special with the working title of Team Coco Presents Conan’s Writers Live. Part of TBS’s second annual Just for Laughs festival, the special will tape on June 17 in Chicago and air on TBS on June 27th at 10 p.m. Tickets go on sale this Friday, March 28. The show has already been playing to sold-out crowds in Los Angeles.
With all the hubbub surrounding dear Coco these days, it’s pretty cool to see his writers — and especially faithful sidekick Richter — get some love. (Watts, in case you didn’t know, has been opening for O’Brien on his Legally Prohibited from Being Funny on Television Tour.)
Sounds good to me. Who’s gonna check this out?

Oh so kind of like Chelsea Handler’s round table members getting a stand up special.
Sort of, except there’s a chance you might laugh.
The lack of quality is what is prohibiting those ashhats from being funny.
Remind me…which comedians and writers got their start on Leno…
they get their own show, you get to rant on an internet comment section. sounds like you “lack” the quality.
That’s great – I think they’ve all become known in their right between the show and the tour.
Go Team Coco!
Sounds great to me. I’m still pissed that they canceled “Andy Richter Controls the Universe” >:(
I’m with Coco!
Saw Conan’s tour on Monday, and I wasn’t a fan of Reggie Watts. His looping was cool, but his “humor” was basically just a deluge of vulgarity. It seemed like a weird opener, but I wasn’t aware he was one of Conan’s writers. Richter and Deon Cole were much funnier in their parts of the main show.
Clayton, I was at the OSU Show too. Reggie was random, but not necessarily “funny”. Deon Cole however was awesome
wish I could see the show… sidenote, regarding the article: is the “March 28″ a typo? Shouldn’t it be “May 28th” …
This is the most demented picture I’ve ever seen of Andy. He looks like he’s going to kill me a make a lampshade from my skin. I love it.
Deon Cole was sooo funny
