Donald Trump was clearly fired up to do some firing, saying sayonara to three contestants, and setting the final two off on their final task to determine ultimate Celebrity Apprentice dominance. My full recap will be up at 2am [UPDATE: Dalton's full Celebrity Apprentice recap is now live!], but if you already watched and can’t wait to sound off, then read on after the jump for more. [SPOILER ALERT: Read on only if you have already watched Sunday's episode of Celebrity Apprentice.]
In an episode that began with Sharon Osbourne simulating oral sex while crooning “Do Ya Think I’m Sexy?” and ended with Bret Michaels showing off his cold sore, Donald Trump had to get down to the business of trimming the fat, and he began by firing Maria for complaining that Curtis “came into our dressing room and took a crap and left the stench in the room.” (Yes, this penultimate episode truly had it all.) Then, after having former Apprentice winners Bill Rancic and Joan “Cluck, Cluck…Splash!” Rivers interview the final four, The Donald fired Curtis (maybe he was worried about what he would do to the Trump Tower bathrooms) and Sharon (who spent all of her time sobbing and complaining that “Nobody gives a s— about the colon because it’s up your ass. It’s not sexy.”). I told you this episode had it all.
That meant a final two of Holly and Bret, who were tasked with creating a new flavor and corresponding ad campaign for Snapple to determine the season 3 winner. My full recap will be up at 2am, but in the meantime, are you happy with the final two? And whom are you rooting for to win next week? Hit the message boards and let us know. “And whom are you rooting for to win next week?”
The fact that Holly has been kind of a b!tch at different points of the season notwithstanding, I mean, is there anyone out there NOT rooting for Bret? (I realize Bret’s brush with death came well after the events in the finale were filmed, but still….he’s GOT to be the sentimental favorite going into the live finale.)
So far, it’s not looking to good for him. Holly is organized (and using Curtis very effectively), while Bret is a mess – here’s hoping it’s a typical reality show fakeout and that Bret rebounds and has a good chance to win.
Mr. Trump, I have admired you for many years and can honestly say that you have been a true inspiration for my success in business. I love Celebrity Apprentice and watch it faithfully, and I don’t have time to watch TV, but how on earth can you justify firing Sharon Osbourne and keeping Holly. I stated from the second episode that it would come down to Sharon and Bret, both of which complete deserve it. I thought having to choose between those two would be difficult even for you….but to have Holly and Bret as the final two…well as a business women who has had to make many difficult changes in staff…the final show is already determined…it is Bret Micheals all the way. Holly can’t and has not held a position even close to Bret. I will say it again…Sharon and Bret in the final task would have sent ratings through the roof. Sorry Mr. Trump you made a very bad decision when you fired Sharon. Best of Luck
I disagree for one very key reason: Sharon has barely appeared in the show all season. Yes, I know she was sick. But at some point it would hardly be fair to give her a pass when Holly (love or hate her) has been haulin’ ass the entire season. I like Sharon, but Holly and Bret have worked their butts off. In light of Bret’s recent developments, I have a feeling it’s going to be a tie.
I disagree. I love Sharon as well, but the truth is, Holly has worked harder and seems more organized.
Holly Peete is so irritating. The show should have fired her long ago. She lost her first task at PM not because Selida didn’t help out, but because the execs didn’t like Holly’s concept. Execution was good, concept off target. Similarly in the apartment designing task, Holly didn’t lose because Cyndi was hard to manage – she lost because the execs didn’t like Peete’s design and colors. Even on the task she won, she lost the creative element of it (24/7 execs preferred other team). She should have been fired long ago. Bret should win it. He won both tasks where he was PM, he was a strong leader when PM and a very giving, hard working and creative supporter when not PM. For some reason the show is protecting Holly, and it loses credibility in doing so. It’s kind of like giving the gold medal at the Olympics to the athlete that has the best muscle tone, but didn’t perform best during the actual competition.
I prefer Bret Michaels to win it all. He is the only one who had a 2-0 record. But looks like Holly will win it. There are many times Trump should have fired her but kept her all the time. Cyndi Lauper should have been kept till top 5.
I completely disagree. Holly has been very hardworking, raised the most money and showed up on every task. Sharon was uncessarily over emotional on the last episode and no corporate boss wants that. Even when she was crying for Holly, Holly held her composure. Actually Sharon should have been fired long ago when she was sick. She was just riding on being one of the most known celebrities on the panel and obviously one of Trump’s favorites. Another guy that had to go home to attend to a family issue wasnt allowed to come back. Trump chose the best final 2. Also Sharon sort of conceded to Holly, which was kind of kind (considering her explanation) but this should be strictly business, and winning will not change Holly’s child’s condition unfortunately, so I don’t get Sharon’s point
Holly is annoying and bitchy, and Curtis was robbed of that spot
Who watches this garbage? Get a life.
You’re taking the time to comment on it despite “not watching it.” What does that say about you, sweetie?
Good Job, Jonny! I was going to point out that obvious fact my self…lol.
I guess lots of people are angry that Donald Trump keeps on making the wrong decision.
You fire someone with a toilet humor like Maria was ok.
But Joan Rivers have total pit venom foul toilet all over last season. Yet she won it.
Trump asked, “Is the contestants tamer this season?”
Of course since you don’t the Joan and Melissa Rivers.
If you put Cyndi Lauper and Sharon Osbourne last season instead of those. And put the Rivers this season, pretty sure it would have been pit venom all over again.
Joan Rivers is the worst celebrity to grace TV. Her soul is the darkest pit I ever saw.
I’ve been rooting for Bret for a while (even before his brain hemorrhage) but I honestly think Holly’s going to win. Oh, and I LOVE JOAN RIVERS.
Oh, I’m with you.
I’ve been impressed with Bret on this show since the very beginning (with how funny and hard-working he was) and right down to this episode (keeping his cool and articulately and passionately explaining why he should be in the finale).
So I was rooting for him to go far since the very start and I agree that it LOOKS like Holly is going to win.
The main reason I brought up Bret’s hemorrhage is because this IS a TV show first and foremost. On top of that, it’s a LIVE show next week. Maybe it’s just me, but I’m having a hard time imagining Trump “firing” Bret (making his first major live TV appearance since he almost died) and giving the win to Holly.
I think if we are talking about “compassion”…..then Donald will show some and give the win to Bret (and Holly should embrace that as well if she has class). For Bret to even be on the show next week shows what kind of person he is. The cliffhanger was to make us think that Bret was losing it….but we all know the dolly will show up next week (I hope!)
Yeah, I’m hoping Donald will show some compassion as well.
That and I’ve wanted Bret to win since the beginning.
I agree. I picked Brett from the beginning. Everyone underestimated him. He is very creative and not as dumb as I had believed. I hated His Rock Of Love show. But after watching him on Celebrity Apprentice I have seen a whole different side to Brett. I know they are showing at the end of tonights eposide that Holly was done and Brett didn’t even begin. Come on people, they edited it to look like that. YOU know Brett will follow through and be amazing! Remember he has never lost as project manager. The only reason Holly has won so much money was the task they did allowed that amount. I think it is amazing, simply awesome that Brett went through what he has and will still be in the finale! If he doesn’t win I will fire Mr. Trump!
Brett for the win!
I hadn’t been much of a Bret Michaels fan before watching the show, but the guy has COMPLETELY won me over. Even before his recent health crises, I was really hoping he’d win, and of course, now I want to see that even moreso.
And while I know personality shouldn’t be the main criteria, I have to say, Holly just leaves me cold. If it had come down to Sharon and Bret, I’d be happy either way it went, but with Holly and Bret, I’ll be really disappointed if Holly wins.
Oh, and I had the exact same thought about Trump hating Bret by sending Strawberry back in, and giving Holly 2 of the top 5. If he was going to bring back top 5ers, he should have split them between the two – say give Holly Maria and Bret Curtis and then one gets Summer and one gets Darryl. That would have been much more fair than what we ended up with. What can you do, though – it’s Donald, eh?
GO BRET!!!
Ack! Totally wanted a Sharon v Bret final…she just didn’t fight for it!
Ceballos, I agree with your earlier statement – the organized Holly/frazzled Bret scenario we were left with was a total fake-out. Bret THRIVES on pressure. Not to mention that this challenge has a fund raising event tied to it and Holly has already exhausted her major donors.
BRET FTW!!!
Bret all the way. I have been impressed with him since the beginning, but his interview answers were humble and passionate. Thankfully, Bill had enough sense to stand up for Bret after the interviews….kind of forcing Donald to choose Bret. Every Apprentice finale leaves you hanging thinking one player is losing it….then they come back strong. Bret should win.
Totally rooting for Bret to win it. And was not happy at first that he got stuck with the quitter and Holly’s flunky, although to give Summer credit, she appears to be trying really hard for Bret. And I’m soooo disappointed in Curtis and Maria making fun of Bret. Maria changes like the wind to match the opinion of who she’s working with. I’m amazed she doesn’t have whiplash from all the abrupt U-turns. And Curtis was just mean …. I guess that was his jealousy that he wasn’t one of the final project managers standing.
Go Bret!
Good point about the teammates…I mean, what was that about?!
I get Trump and his team wanting to keep Summer away from her BFF Holly, but could those four workers have been more random? I mean, what’s Daryl doing back there?! (I guess he must’ve taken a really refreshing power nap after he quit for being too tired.)
I’m assuming Sharon was still crying, Cyndi was still too p!ssed, Blago was too busy greeting people at Grand Central Station, etc…
I think Blago was still typing…or maybe still p***** that someone dared to compare him to Donny Osmond.
Maybe they phoned or emailed Blago but he’s still trying to figure out how to get the message?
Blago’s probably too busy gearing up another run for Governor… if the people of this state were stupid enough to vote him in once, why would the most corrupt state (politically) in the nation not vote him in again?
The best thing about this show was to illustrate how insane the democratic process can be with a 2 party system.
but Blago was fun as hell to watch, come on now ….
Curtis and Maria really showed how nasty and small they both are this week. They belong with the backstabber Holly, who will hog the credit for anything that they do. I was impressed that Summer really seemed to be working for Bret (maybe she finally realized that Holly was using her) and even Daryl actually did something constructive. I think he figured that he looked pretty bad when he left.
You’re not kidding about Holly…
I actually didn’t get around to watching last week’s episode until just before this one aired and I was absolutely flabbergasted that Holly ended up getting credit for the “celebrity room” in the apartment renovation challenge, just because she said something like “use red.” Ugh!
I couldn’t agree more. Cyndi Lauper deserved to be in the final two. Her and Brett. I loved that Bill Ranic did stand up for Brett. Have anyone noticed that it seemed as if Trump has been after Brett to fire him? He kept asking Rod “Are you sure you don’t want to bring back Brett”? He questioned Bill’s assement of Bret. Trump, what is your problem with the Rocker? THAT rocker is honest. He told Joan “don’t underestimate my kindess for weakness”. I loved that. I also loved when he said he wanted to win because of what he has done not by throwing others under the bus! For those reasons and many more is why I love Brett Michaels and why I want him to win and think he should! He deserves it! Not once has he thrown anyone under the bus as Holly has. Nor does he take credit away from others!
I loved Sharon and Cyndi. Holly definitely used Summer and hopefully Summer figured that out along the way. Glad to see Daryl step up too. I wouldn’t have returned if I were Cyndi either. But I gotta say, pretty disappointed in Curtis’ snide comments – I expected more from him. Maria just plays both sides of the fence… Brett for the win!
No way, Miara. Cyndi was entertaining but did NOTHING to warrant her being part of the final two.
I quit watching it two weeks ago and have been so disappointed and annoyed with Trumps comments and choosing of who was fired (culminating in last weeks firing of Cyndi over Holly) but will root for Bret over Holly. in fact, come to think of it, I would root for Atilla the Hun, Vlad the Impaler and ivan the Terrible over Holly. I truly hope whe goes down in flames. Good luck Brett.
you said it! Go Brett – Holly is way too full of herself! And something else
Semi-final and final episodes are totally missing the mark. Only person of interest remaining is Brett. What’s with bringing back personalities that viewers have no interest in seeing again. Couldn’t get those who your audience would care to see (Cyndi and Sharon)? Celebrity Apprentice is gasping its last breath and I’ve already pulled the plug on this season, perhaps all future Celebrity Apprentices.
Okay, I am with most all others. Bret Michaels all the way I hope he wins. The american Diabetes Association . could use the winnings. Oh I`m sure Hollys could too but I`ve seen a very nasty side of her during the course of the show. And Bret, well he came in the underdog and I hope he will go out on top.Plus with everyone saying that he has surprised them, I think he`s got a great shot. And after what he`s been through recently, I think it proves he is a fighter and that he never gives up. Good Luck and Gods Speed Bret
Lori
Actually, Holly has already raised nearly $350,000 for her charity, so no matter what happens, she’s been wildly successful.
Not that she wouldn’t take the extra 250K from the finale, but to me it’s another sign that Trump would be more likely to spread the love and give that $250,000 to Bret’s charity.
Holly only won that amount because that day that task was allowed that much. Every other time the amount was either 40.000 or 20,000. So you really can’t give Holly ALL THE CREDIT HERE. Brett has never lost as Project Manager, Holly has 2 times. Just saying.
Miara,
I get your point that Holly was Project Manager in a task where there was no cap on the amount of money raised for charity, and I’m DEFINITELY no fan of Holly, but come on…
From what we saw she absolutely busted her a$$ to raise that money, and she ended up raising almost twice as much as Sharon Osbourne, who I thought would be the best fund-raiser in the game, given the connections she has.
You can say what you like about her crappy attitude (and I have), but you can’t take that record away from her.
Do I have to Ceballos? I don’t want to give her that. I really don’t.
Holly won $350 because when she won the task, she also got the $$ that Sharon raised as well, so she didn’t technically raise $350K on her own. She was project manager 3 times. The only time she actually won was when she had to rely on someone else being a big contributor. The other two tasks (Right Guard and the apartment) where creativity was important, she lost. She was specifically told not to go for the “moms” on the Right Guard ad, but she did, then she picked the sea foam green for the bed room, which Jonathan Alder HATED. Why is she still here? I have compassion that she is playing for a charity that personally effects her, but Sharon and Bret are also.
Ally-
You’re absolutely right that Holly did NOT raise the $350,000 by herself. However, she DID win the task that unquestionably had the biggest monetary stakes this season, so that counts for something…
Then again (as I mentioned earlier), I’m not exactly a Holly fan, so I’m not really sure why I’m jumping to her defense…by all means, keep on hating.
not only were Holly’s concepts off base for all of her challenges – right guard commercial targeted wrong demographic (moms), apartment renovation cluttered and cheap looking, and even the workout considered too safe and normal – but she also had a very hard time managing the difficult yet most artistic person on her team (Cyndi). Unlike others – like Bret with his disorganization and time issues, or Cyndi with her inefficient personality – Holly’s flaws were never really pointed out (by anyone but Cyndi). Holly is organized, articulate and a hard worker, but made critical judgement mis calls in my opinion. She even counseled Summer not to use Cyndi’s voice for the song! The one thing the execs liked about the commercials! And she really didn’t take critical creative input from her team that could have made her concepts stronger. Of all the players, Holly is the one who never adjusted or was asked to adjust her working style and grow or learn something from others.
Was always a fan of the show, but really became a fan of Bret Michaels this season. He really is a class act, has worked hard, and absolutely deserves to win. How can Trump deny that he is the epitome of a fighter? He didn’t quit when he found out his daughter had diabetes (as does mine, so I’m a little prejudiced here). He has pressed on through all of his challenges (health and otherwise) because of his passion to cure this disease. Holly has won enough already for autism… even it up and give Bret the win for diabetes… please, Mr. Trump!
I lost all respect for Joan Rivers last year.
i lost all respest for joan rivers about 112 years ago.
I have been rooting for Bret since the show aired!!! He has been through a lot and is still fighting til the end. Good luck!!!!
Bret wins no matter what. Holly’s a two-faced beeyotch (only Maria is a bigger a-hole) and Bret’s proven he’s a great guy at heart. Nobody’s going to forget that.
I came into this season with a low opinion of Brett – he has really changed that. I have really been
Bret really got screwed for teammates. Summer is effective but let’s face it, she wants Holly to win. Holly got two good teamates who work hard and can think on their feet. Summer is too straitlaced. Bret is screwed. Plus his drink sounds gross.
I totally agree! They gave Holly two of the final 5, and Bret gets …. the Quitter and the Opponent’s BFF? WTF?
I’ll bet he’ll win it anyway …. he better, he so much deserves it more than Holly (who really shouldn’t be in the final 2 in my opinion)
Hannah, just in response to your comment that Bret’s drink sounds gross… I haven’t tasted either but I’ve seen on other forums many discussions of people who have tasted both Holly’s and Bret’s drinks, and so far Bret’s drink is almost universally considered the better tasting of the two. For what it’s worth…
How much money does the winner get? Holly has already won the most money in Apprentice history, up til this point, hasn’t she? So, if it’s a close call, I hope Bret earns the winner’s money.
I’ve been so impressed with Bret. He’s an authentic guy, creative, disciplined, funny, smart, and charming. Holly worked hard, has some good ideas, but Bret is the star of this show, and deserves to win. For days, I was so upset about his illness, and his triumphant return is in large part due to his fortitude and faith in himself. He’s a great role model, and one lucky guy.
Bret should win not because of his medical issues, but because he is the best celebrity apprentice that Trump has ever had and maybe the best contestant ever on either of the series. He is bright and creative and the depth of his knowledge on so many subjects is really impressive. He didn’t fight with people or criticize them, for the most part and he made substantial contributions to every task. I never thought that I would like him, but he truly deserves to win. Plus, of course, I am so glad he is recovering.
VERY well stated on every point.
I’m not suggesting that he should win BECAUSE of his medical issues. (He’s an incredibly deserving winner on merit.) It’s just that the medical issue simply can’t be ignored, and I don’t believe that Bret can turn up on a live show next week and be fired by Donald Trump.
(Then again, I was convinced from the beginning that Sharon Osbourne was going to win this season, so what do I know?)
Sam you are so right! I did not like Brett. I hated his Rock of Love show. But after watching him on Celebrity Apprentice I have grown not only to like him but to love and respect him. He has to be one of the most honest, genuine and nicest guys out there. They all underestimated him as did I. I think he should win because he is creative, talented, honest, and never ever threw anyone under the bus.
That’s exactly how I feel, Miara.
people watch this show? ha
Why are you reading a re-cap of a show you don’t watch? That’s lame
Not Holly! There’s a difference between caring about your kid, and being a b*tch in order to get your money. A lot of families deal with issues, & they remain nice people.
Oops, I did use the “b” word. I prefer to criticize Holly’s behavior, & not resort to name-calling. My bad.
