I never cried over the death of a fictional character as much as I did over Juliet’s. She was the best female character left in the show.
What about Danielle?! She was easily the coolest character on the show. I’ve heard they killed her off because Mira Furlan was going back to Croatia, I don’t know if that’s true, but still- such an undeserved death!
Late to the party with my comments, but after reading the actual article in EW, I found this video and wanted to mention my $.02 regarding the actors and their characters who “died” on Lost.
Most of these deaths were sudden and/or shocking, but I still think that Charlie’s death ranks as the saddest. What a powerful episode, and Charlie dies selflessly and honorably.
Juliet’s death was sad as well, even though she has been long-rumored to be in the finale.
I was disappointed to see Danielle Rousseau, and especially Charlotte, killed off. Both of these characters seemed to have a bit of unfinished business regarding the island, and I felt that they were too quickly shuffled off. Plus, let’s face it – I adore Rebecca Mader. That red hair and English accent get me every time, not to mention that she seems like a hell of a lot of fun in real life.
I thought Shannon, Boone, and Ana Lucia dying was no big deal in the grand scheme of the show. Yet Libby’s death I found to be tragic and depressing – go figure… I think there was more to her backstory than many of the other actors killed off, and it was nice to see her get a bit of closure with Hurley this season.
But regardless, all of these actors were an important part of the show, whether they are still ‘around’ or not. Long live Lost!
Arzt’s death really IS one of the most memorable, although he only lasted 3 episodes! <3
Hah, apparently nobody misses poor Shannon. Her character was pretty unlikeable, but her sarcastic remarks were always hilarious (“What’s a four letter word for I don’t care?”, “I am so not moving to the rape caves!”), she had a beautiful singing voice, and she was pretty easy on the eyes. I always had the feeling that one of the writers had a grudge against her; her unnecessary death was preceded by her becoming more and more pathetic, and they made her stop fixing up her hair to take her glamour appeal away, too.
