I agree with all those who are disappointed in Heigl as Stephanie. Stephanie is about 30, and is not a delicate type. Even the gal that stars on Castle would be a better choice. I have read the books 3 times and have started over because of the movie for my 4th time. I hope I won’t be disappointed. Aneta

Yes, I was hoping for Dwayne the Rock Johnson for Ranger. He would have really been great! Daniel Sunjata will be good, just not as big and hulking like I always pictured Ranger! Heigel will be good for this part.

I think Kathryn will be good. I think Shemar Moore would be a perfect Ranger but I’ll give Daniel a chance. Morelli just isn’t Morelli – sorry -

I just saw the movie. Katherine Heigl was fine; Daniel Sunjata was fine; Debbie Reynolds was a hoot; Jason O’Mara did a good acting job but just doesn’t fit my image of Morelli. I wanted more Lula — hope they make another one so Sherri Shepherd gets to to do her full thing. I enjoyed it; not the kind of movie for heavy criticism. (I also have thought Sandra Bullock all along but she is waaaaaay too old for Stephanie now)

Channing Tatum should have been cast for Morelli. O’Mara looks nothing like I pictured Morelli to look and my friends all say the same. Morelli is described as being so smoking hot that women would throw themselves at him, and O’Mara is just not that good looking in my opinion. Isn’t Channing Tatum really high up on People’s Most Beautiful People list? O’Mara looks older than Morelli’s character too. He could be the greatest actor on the planet, but if he doesn’t fit the description it’s not going to work. I think bad casting, this being one of them, is killing the movie. If they make the sequel, I hope they recast Morelli and Channing Tatum is available.

Critics have said the casting is bad. The only problem I see is Morelli’s character, but it’s a big one.

I am not so sure about Heigl and O’mara, but I am a huge fan of Sunjata. My only argument is that they did not follow true to the books, Ranger is supposed to have a ponytail and they did not add one. Stephanie is supposed to have blue eyes– Heigl does not. As an extremely OCD person, this bothers me. They make colored eye contacts! They used them in twilight.

You people are the most simple minded sheep I’ve ever READ. The casting wasn’t the issue. It was the story telling, and that is the directors fault. Muscles don’t = good acting, dummies. For instance if the Rick played Ranger he’d have too many frickin muscles and NO ACTING CHOPS. Duh. Sunjata was PERFECTLY CAST AND HE KILLED THE PERFORMANCE!!!!
