Two immunity challenges! Two Tribal Councils! Two eliminations! And too much drama as contestants verbally attacked each other right and left in hopes of staying in the game. The Survivors exchanged words so sharp this week they could have replaced the tribe’s machete. Rupert called Russell a “disgusting, terrible human being.” Russell dubbed Rupert a “dumbass.” Colby barked at Candice for not owning up to her betrayal of the other Heroes. And Russell reduced his alliance-mate Danielle to tears at Tribal Council, and then sent her home. It was a wild episode jam packed with challenges, Tribal Councils, and eliminations. When all was said and done, Candice was voted out, as was Danielle. The second elimination occurred after Russell attempted to pit his two female partners (Danielle and Parvati) against each other, only to watch them swap stories and realize what he was up to. When Danielle announced at Tribal that “I’m closer to Parvati than you think,” Russell and Jerri appeared to change their votes on the spot and sent her home, leaving the Villains alliance in tatters, and giving a ray of hope to previously left-for-dead Colby and Rupert.

How about Rupert’s gameplay tonight? He was wise to make it seem like he had the HII in his pocket and that no doubt saved him AND Colby at the first TC, setting into motion Russell vs the Danielle (he was sooooo pi$$ed that they decided Candace w/o him!!). The BEST Play a hero has made so far.

He’s undoubtedly the person who made this season and last season the most entertaining.
The jury (last season and possibly this one) are just like the people who say don’t like the way he plays – all a bunch of spineless sore losers who can’t accept the fact that they got outwitted, outplayed and outlasted really hard and good and still say something else otherwise.
This games motto should be changed to “lay low, be there and socialize” if he makes it to the jury vote and still doesn’t win this season.
For me at least, it’s not about Russell “playing hard”. It’s about him being a sexist asshole and being rewarded for that, with money and camera time and fawning fans. If an obviously racist dude won a million dollars, would we all say, “Oh, well, at least he’s good TV?” No. So why do we excuse his rampant misogyny?

Russy is a moron. He just lost 2 more jury votes! He also made someone cry in front of the rest of the jury! He does not know how to play this game at all. I will give him credit for being able to get into people’s head. He is also an avereage strategist. But he will never be the greatest player ever. Russy will be one of the most entertaining players to be on Survivor, but that is it. Shoot, Shambo was as entertaining as him, and so was Courtney. So I will rank Russy with the likes of Shambo and Courtney, loved to watch them, but knew they were not Sole Survivor material. Im still so rooting for Sandra. She is lethal competition! She sure knows how to play the game, both stratigicaly and socially. I mean, she does not have an alliance, and in her original season, she didn’t have her alliance either. She always ends up playing by herself and for herself. The best thing about her is she knows how to deflect attention from herself. she is not afraid to defend herself in any situation either, wether it is at Tribal Council or back at camp.
He is the best ever at finding hidden immunity idols and using them. Only one aspect of the game. I was yelling at the TV at how STUPID the things he was saying to Rupert were. Go Sandra. Go Parvati. That is all of the ones that are left.
Danielle crying does not hurt Russell. The jury was shaking their heads at her, not Russell. They know what and how this game is played.

Messy season for one reason: the rift between old-school(everyone else) survivor strategy vs new-school (Russell). Like Agassi’s bone crushing power baseline shaped a new era in Tennis, Russell is the new way to play. You can see this in the epic showdown between B.Rob and Russ. Rob was content to play a numbers game by getting a bigger stronger alliance. Russ played with people, in spite of being on the outs with the bigger alliance. He doesn’t win for one reason, he’s a solo artist. Previous season winners pulled moves by committee, spreading the ill will around. Russ is a lone wolf, and he’s always going to be in the study with a candle stick over the corpses of his plays. No one to diffuse ill will.
yes but he’ll always get himself to the finals in second place with 100,000. not bad.
Russy also plays the number games. It just happened that in his season, his team kept loosing challenges so they went with fewer numbers into the merge. Yul did the same thing, he had 4 on his team against 8 on the other, yet they still dominated the game. This has not been the first time that a team goes in with smaller numbers and comes out on top. Other people have accomplished it before Russy. Even if Russy comes in 3rd this time, he will be a 2nd and 3rd place finalist. Amanda already did that as well, he wont be the first to accomplish it. He is not pulling all the moves by himself either, even in his Season others would tell him who to vote against as well. Remember that at the final tribal council he was going to vote for MIck, but Natalie told him that he would loose against Brett and convinced Russy to vote against Brett instead. A true lone wolf is Sandra who has been in the outs for a long time. She was in the outs in her season as well. Again, the beautiful thing about Sandra is that she is by far the best player and leader who has ever played this game. Here is why, Sandra knows when to lead, when to follow and when to support.

Actually, I think he knew he lost Samoa. What’s really costing Russell, I think (other than just naturally having no idea how to be socially ingratiating) is the sheer exhaustion of playing back to back seasons. He’s os tired, he’s being harsher and shorter (no pun intended) with people than he should be. Just doing this once would rip up your body — doing it twice with a two week break in between is unimaginably hard. (Even Amanda — the previous endurance winner — had more than 2 weeks between China and FvF.) It’s a miracle he wasn’t out on day 6.

Yeah, you’re probably right. I don’t think the jury is going to recognize the “outwit” factor that Russell is so good at. It’s gonna be personal if he makes it to the end.
It’s always personal. Outwit includes getting people to like you even when you screw them over.

He’s not really outwitting them though, just screwing them over randomly. He might make it to the final 3, but his own stupid moves will secure his at best 2nd place (more likely 3rd this season) finish.
Russell is only good at outwitting himself. He’s great at getting to the end, but to win, you have to have an endgame. You have to play for the jury. He sucks at it.
The unfortunate thing about this and past seasons is the people that are actually playing the game and have been for awhile will lose to people who flew under the radar because they didn’t ruffle anyones feathers. The bitter jury will vote for the least deserving person out of spite.
Does Russell even have one person currently on the jury who would vote for him? Coach thinks he is scum. Courtney calls him a “troll.” He double crossed JT big time, and Amanda probably cannot stand him. He just backstabbed Danielle and Candice.
I guess he is the perfect guy to take to the finish.

Russell shouldve won last season- vs a bunch of average players- this season he has again stayed 1 step ahead of most of them, but his social game just went kaput with this move. I doubt he won any votes with this new strategy, where if he had gone final 3 with Parv/Danielle- I think he wouldve won hands down. Now its wide open for Parv or Sandra to take it all. IMO- Sandra has played the best game this season.

I’m a huge fan. Have been since last season. What amazes me this time around is that he thinks he can play the game the same way as last time, and be brutal with people about it and play with their minds and be extremely egotistical about it… AND IT’S WORKING! That’s what amazes me. May not be the nicest person in the world, but he’s VERY entertaining. This has been a great season.

He was panicking so much this episode, you could almost hear his heart beating out of his chest. He is losing his grip and he is getting scared, making alliances with anyone and everyone. This will win him no jury votes as again he has annoyed too many people.

i can see russell getting jury votes for his hardplaying methods. jerri, colby, sandra, parvatti, and JT’s votes, even danielle might vote for him against sandra. But Parvatti will likely win against him. I can’t see sandra getting many votes if she gets to the final 3, colby will likely get voted out soon along with rupert unless russell puts an alliance together with those two. Jerri could squeek through if she makes it to the final 3. don’t judge by last season, that jury was made of LOSERS! this jury is made of top players, even colby;)

It was fun seeing Danielle break down and get booted, but there have been lots of TCs that were better.
It was interesting to see her fall apart. Being so emotional cost her because she did not think as she spoke and that gave Russell the fuel to burn her with. I just knew Jerri would flip with that look she gave Russell. Jerri fears Russell.

Russell Hantz will never win Survivor H & V. Because he is playing the game just like he did in Samoa, he is going to face a bitter jury who will not give him the game. He’s a player but you need friendly votes to win the game and he won’t get those.
He may not have won Samoa because of a “bitter jury” but him losing H&V can’t be blamed on the same thing. He is not playing a better game than Parvati and I’m not even sure he’s playing a significantly better game than Sandra or even Jerri. He’s made some dumb moves and gotten some good luck to get where he is. I’m not saying he hasn’t played well, but when he loses it won’t be because of a “bitter jury”.

Russell is the best player this season. Parvati has made great moves, and Sandra & Jerri are both playing strong games, but personally I like Russell’s game the best. It’s just so aggressive and headstrong. I hope he pulls off the win this time around, but it will be difficult because the jury will hate him again.

I would argue that Jerri is riding coattails at this point. At least she’s coming off a heckuva lot better than she did in the previous two games she played. It helps when you have Russell on the show to take the attention away from her.

Russell plays an emotional game. There’s no strategic benefit to going to the end with the two “heroes.” His only chance at winning this season was final three: Russell, Danielle, Jerri. He voted out his goat. Dumb move. Dumb strategy.
i think what Russell did was for the best. Parv and Danielle’s alliance was far too strong so i believe breaking them up was essential. i can believe that Rus will make it to the end but the jury will never let him win despite deserving it since he actually played the game (even though most might not agree). Russell all the way!

How’s Parv-Danielle more threatening than Colby-Rupert or Parv-Sandra, the 2 duos which the Danielle boot helped create/move further in the game? Parv-Danielle would have been the most loyal to him, and the least threatening in terms of jury votes. Russell’s ego got in the way of him making the right moves.

How has Russell played better than Parvati or even Sandra. Girl was playing him the whole time. When he found out he started making all these stupid (long term) moves that will only piss off the jury. Sandra and Parvati are in the best position of the game. I really hope Russell doesn’t win the fan vote again just because he gets so much screen time. I kind of get the good will from last season, seeing as so many of those players were awful, but he has been far from the best this season. Lovesick, petulant, and completely ego-driven. I have a feeling that a bunch of dumb fans will vote for him to win the fan vote anyway. Maybe it can pay all his recent legal fees;)

Totally agree. All these people who are so enamored with him seem to think this is still Samoa. He’s entertaining to watch (if you like watching unpredictable jerks), but he’s not playing a winning strategy. Entirely too unlikeable and not strong enough strategically to overcome that in front of the jury. What’s he going to point to as how he’s been a better player than Parvati or Sandra? Parvati and Sandra are both capable of tearing him down at final tribal council if they are there with him.
I loved the clip from next week-Russell to Sandra “You are either with me or against me” Sandra to Russell “I am against you.” Also Parvati stood up to him really well this episode.
I really feel bad for Russell’s wife when she watches this season. How embarrassing for her the way he follows Parvity around.
Russell’s best bet would have been to get rid of Parvati. She is by far the sneakiest and most charming. She has the ability to form an alliance with anyone she wants. If she were to form an alliance with Rupert and Colby right now, she probably could. She picks up anyone who makes her stronger and it only puts her further into the game. But really, I’m rooting for Jerri and I hated her other two seasons!
I also saw that Danielle’s listed Russell as the Survivor she respects the most. I’m glad that Danielle got voted off because now it seems Jerri and Sandra will get rid of Russell. I’m really looking forward to an episode where Russell doesn’t speak once.

whats the big to do about Parvetti ?If Sandra was smart,she should play parvetti, get her to think she was on her side and get Geri and Russell to vote her off, which I think they will. Then eventually get the rest of the villians off, and try again to get the heros on her side like she wanted to before until Candace made thar ridiculous move.
I am still hoping that Colby picks up his game and wins. He need to go against Russell. Then he might win!

I agree. What has happened to Colby? Before this season started I was rooting for him, but after seeing him I can’t stand behind him.
The problem with Colby is that his brain is still stuck in Australia where everyone was kind and honorable. That’s the kind of Survivor game Colby likes and that’s just not the nature of the game 18 seasons later. I think Colby shuts down when things get sneaky or conniving, as was clearly evident when he basically placed his own neck on the chopping block several weeks ago when the Heroes decided to vote off James instead.
When he was clearly in danger, he opts for some food. TOTALLY LAME.
Colby quit early on the first immunity challenge when his butt was on the line. On the 2nd immunity challenge , he couldn’t even finish in the top five out of seven challengers on the first leg of the challenge. Last week he threw Amanda under the bus when she was trying to get the clue for the HII. He is totally non-deserving to win.
Maybe he’s playing the go-with-the-flow-under-the-radar game that has been the reason for previous Survivor winners. However, no one on the jury will vote for him unless he makes a bold move and steps up his game.
Great show, best TC by far. I love how nimble the little guy is, he’s so cute, jumping around, trying to control everything. And he was right, he had to break up Parv and Danielle–he just waited too long. Dan is sure to vote for anyone but him if he makes it to the end. Love Sandra, nice to see Rupert playing the game. But Colby? dude, you got big ones my friend, calling out Candice when you wouldn’t stick up for your tribe mate last week.
Agreed about Colby. He’s a lame duck… all the rest are in it to win it, making the season enjoyable.
Colby called Candice a traitor because SHE IS A TRAITOR; she flipped on her original alliance on her first Survivor show and she flipped on her alliance in the current show. I don’t recall anthing about her first Survivor season except that she flipped, I don’t know why she is an All-Star and certainly not why she is a Hero. I also have no recollection of Danielle at all from her initial Survivor season, I am just glad I don’t have to look at her fake ta-tas anymore.
I don’t remember Danielle either and I still won’t remember here after this season. How stupid to give Russell the clue tho the immunity idol.
I think Colby not doing well in challenges is the best thing that has ever happened to him. If he isn’t a physical threat, then he’s less likely to go home.
He’s not a physical threat, actually he’s not even playing the game–when tom and steph went it’s like the fight went right out of him. What a wimp.

I completely agree Kari. I personally believe that Colby has been throwing challenges left and right. He wants everyone to see him as a weak player.
That is a risky thing to do when there is only one other person in your alliance, who could easily win immunity. Not like he has ANY strategic game either.
