“It was next to impossible not to take notice of Little Maks. I vacillated between mortified and enthralled. I’m mortified to say I was mostly enthralled.” –Anna
“What I loved was Derek seemed to notice in the background and they shared a laugh together before Maks put his hands in front of his ahem, package.” –Allison

“Lady and the TrampVanIntensité!” –Gemma

Although I miss Annie’s videos (sequins vs fringe), the hidden gems are great. And you don’t have to watch the show to appreciate them.
I miss DWTS Talk too.
So true. I don’t watch DWTS and I look forward to this post every week.
I agree – I love this new game, but I loved the videos even more
These are hysterical. I believe we must dub Erin “The Hanger.” Not only was she hanging on Maks (see above), she was hanging over Evan at one point as well during group dance rehearsal.
Thank you! I was surprised that wasn’t mentioned. Evan and Erin were really cute. She was totally hanging on him and he was rubbing her back. I’ve heard they have become good friends, but it was sweet to see.
RE: the hat: I thought Evan was auditioning for the role of Mike Nesmith in a Monkeys biopic.
that totally made me giggle and think of watching them saturdays with my sibs!
Also, LOVE the hidden gems. they truly make my day!
Too funny! Thanks for the laughs this morning. I love this blog as much as I love your DWTS recaps!
I think my fave is Evan getting hit by Erin’s ponytail. Hee! During Monday’s show, I totally missed the appearance of “Little Maks”.
That picture does not do E.C. Lady justice. It doesn’t even begin to convey the fervor with which she attacked those chimes!
“Little” Maks… not so little, lol!!! I have kind of strayed from paying attention to the actual dancing on DWTS and put more focus on trying to find those hidden gems!!! Love it!
I am so impressed that somebody remembered Albert Reed enough to recognize him in the audience. Not even in the first couple rows where they usually place former celebrities, but in the regular people section! I had to think really hard before I remembered who he was…nicely done, Katie and Lilly! I also failed to notice the handsy couple and the nekkid lady next to them, but they were awesome. And I rewound the introductory fanfare bit before the stars descend the stairs just because I was so blown away by Enthusiastic Chimes Lady’s enthusiasm (with an enthusiastic assist from the bongo man), I had to see it again. This show makes me so happy!
Did anybody else notice the red Macy’s stars on the screen behind Brooke’s head last night? It looked like giant red butterflies were morphing out of the back of her head! I was so distracted by them, I completely missed what Tommy B was saying.
Was Jesse Czincak (from Deanna’s “Bachelorette” season) behind Len in the audience? You can see part of him in the picture of Carrie Ann, but when it was live you could see him a lot better.
It’s funny you mention that, because I am sure I saw Molly, who married “the Bachelor”, Jason, in the audience too!
I mentioned Jesse as a Hidden Gem yesterday, and I’m surprised not to see him here, but I guess Annie didn’t think he deserved to be included! (still love ya Annie!) ;o)
Should I be ashamed that I am now going to go back to the TIVO (which is ostensibly for the benefit of my 2.5 year old who loves DWTS and turns it into a “I want to do that” audience participation show) to check out Little Maks?
I didn’t see anyone mentioning that I think it was after pam’s dance, when it was just Evan and Ana clapping that you could see Brooke texting in the abckground and not even paying attention.
well, my goodness!! I JUST found this place! I guess it will take me a while to catch up on all the hidden gems from seasons past.. I will, though, I will!
This is great fun!
Thanks to whoever runs this place!
Welcome, toworreed2sleep! The Hidden Gems add a whole new dimension to viewing (and reading Annie’s great recaps about) DWTS!
Thanks so much qu! I have looked back on this page several times today.. and I will be REwatching Monday and Tuesdays shows this week!
anyone else notice Chad giving Cheryl a little smack on the behind after their performance Monday night? Pretty sure that is what I saw…..
favorite moment of the show: evan getting super excited and jumping /dancing up and down after recieving 30.
I liked that when Anna was being strict with Evan during rehearsal, he gave a quick little nod that seemed totally appropriate for a skater to do to his coach. He’s been disciplining himself for so many years that he’s probably a wonderful dance student, too.
I noticed that little nod, too! Very skater-like. He’s probably Anna’s best student b/c of his excellent work ethic.
I just love him!
