Lynn Redgrave: Her life in pictures

Lynn-Redgrave-lifeImage Credit: Life.comBritain lost one of its most highly regarded actresses when Lynn Redgrave passed away yesterday. Redgrave first made her mark in the mid-’60s with the film Georgy Girl, for which she won an Oscar nomination. Three decades later she secured another nod from the Academy for her performance in Gods and Monsters. Redgrave was also, of course, the sister of Vanessa Redgrave and the aunt of Natasha Richardson, who tragically died last year.

Life has posted a gallery of Lynn Redgrave photographs, which features many candid, off-screen shots of the actress throughout her life, from a family picture taken when she was just three to a portrait of her at the Toronto film festival just year. We very much recommend that you take a look.

I love looking at pictures taken before the 90′s, when actressess were still naturally beautiful instead of the fake plastic crap we have to look at today.

Such lovely pictures, whether posed or candid with her family. I think my favorite is the one with Vanessa after the premier of “The Year of Magical Thinking”. Vanessa’s had her own tragic year. Losing a daughter and two siblings in such a short amount of time is heartbreaking.

Wow…that pic of the Redgrave sisters in the 60′s is stunning.

While a lovely photo album, I bemoan the lack of photos from the early 70′s though the early 90′s. It is in this period that Miss Redgrave gave a wonderful performance in the TV mini-series, Centennial.

Lynn was always wonderful and very real whether on stage in movies or just being herself. I first saw her in Georgy Girl and loved her and also the movie. I am the same age as she was. She was just the “Best”. A wonderful woman and a wonderful actress. We have lost a truly dear person. Will love you always dear one.
