I laughed at this, but I was also a little freaked out — I grew up constantly hearing the story of the girl choking to death on gum the Dragon Coaster at Playland Rye. (Other suburban New Yorkers in the ha-ouse?)
But back to the fun stuff. Perhaps this will launch a new meme, along the lines of Selleck, Waterfall, Sandwich: Ice cream, roller coaster, British thing? [via]
Not only do I remember the Rye Playland story, but what about the girl who was scalped on the Free Fall at Great Adventure becuase her hair got caught?
