Another day, another cheating scandal, right, PopWatchers? As People first reported, David Boreanaz is the latest celebrity to join the unenviable list of Hollywood’s most unfaithful. And as in the case of so many other famous cheaters (David Letterman, we’re looking at you), we’re wondering how this might affect his small-screen reputation — especially when Bones revolves around Booth’s charm and relationship with Brennan. So we ask, PopWatchers, will this revelation affect the way you view Bones?

OH, COME ON, PEOPLE! I assume that MOST or ALL celebrities (movies, TV, music, sports) cheat on their significant other. They have people throwing themselves at them constantly (regardless of how big a star they are). The whole hero worship thing in our society enables most of them to succumb to messing around. I don’t think DB admitting to this is actually NEWS. It’s just the way it is in our celebrity driven culture. It’s just the way it is.
Its just sad that it took the mistress threatening to go to the press for him to come clean to his wife.
But really, it takes a certain type of person to be a celebrity…meaning a pretty large ego. No wonder they cheat. Celebrities just shouldn’t get married…its obvious that the committment aspect doesn’t work for them. Celebrity marriages are a joke.

I agree whole heartedly with TorontoTom. Besides, who are we to cast stone and opinions. Their human, just like us, with pressures and temptations. Just because their famous does not make it any more of a scandal than if you or I did it. I think people need to get a life and mind their own biz.

He is an actor and I like Booth the character. So no, it won’t make a difference. Since this news has been out for months, anyways, its not anything new.
What he did was no one’s business but his and his wife’s (and the third party, obviously). Not yours or mine. That said, he’s still a skeevy dude to do that.
My first thought after hearing this was a distinct feeling of Deja Vu. I remember reading this somewhere else months ago. That said, it still makes me a little sad. As someone who has been cheated on I know the pain, anger and embarrassment these women feel. Nothing in my life has ever hurted more than the day I found out the man I trusted more than anyone in the world had been unfaithful.
Doesn’t change my feelings on Bones. It’s still an awesome show. What goes on in his or any other celebrities’ personal lives is not on the top of my “to worry about list” nor is it any of my business. It’s all between him and his wife.
I would hope most people would be able to know the difference between the actor and the role. Booth is a fantasy, with no connection to the type of person Boreanaz is in real life.
So very true-I had to stop watching him in interviews years ago due to my precieved lack of intelligence(on his part).

Booth is a TOTAL fantasy. THE perfect man for the modern woman. Even if Boranez was a semi-decent guy he’d never be able to live up to that. But even so, it does kinda sting a little bit to find out how big a douchbag he really is.
I’m going to try and separate David from his character. Booth would never cheat. I’m just sad that David did.
It makes me see HIM differently, but it seems like he is at least trying to come clean ahead of a media circus. I honestly don’t think he and ED have ever had a romantic relationship off-screen. If you have ever seen the outtakes from the kissing scene in season 3, it is not the behavior of two people who are getting it on off camera. I am beginning to doubt that it is possible for anyone famous to keep it in their pants…

We don’t know when he told his wife. I’ll bet she knew months ago and they were both hoping to keep it quiet. He made that statement after the mistress tried to BLACKMAIL him. Jaime and David have an interview that’s out in this week’s People and we’ll know more after that … not that it’s really our business.
I agree – I am just trying to find a silver lining. I just feel so bad for his wife and kids. His daughter is too young but his son isn’t – this is the kind of thing that kids will repeat at school.
Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward – never a hint of infidelity. I have never heard rumors of Jeff Bridges being unfaithful. I suspect there are hundreds of others. Celebrities are still just people and subject to the same variances in behavior.
I sure am disappointed in him. But I won’t stop watching the show because the actor is a creep.
Just like everything with Hollywood, I seperate the actors from their characters mostly because I can actually like the characters

He’s cheated with a lot more than just her. He slept with a bartender in my town when he was here filming a movie a few years ago. So I’m not really shocked this is coming out.

Cheating isn’t just a Hollywood problem. Millions of people in the country are out of control and cheat on their spouses. Can’t blame Hollywood and fame for everything!

Seriously? DB is far from perfect–you should have smelled him on a Saturday morning during his college years. There’s a reason I referred to him as “Scruffy Boy”. I know nothing about his wife except that it confirms for me that for a long time he had a specific “type” he liked.
RE, me too! I have an older sister so I’ve been watching Buffy since it started when I was eight! I’ve always seen DB as the perfect man haha. But yeah, since I was eight I have learned how to distinguish actors from their characters, thank goodness.
I have been such a fan of his for so long that it truly disappoints me, but these people are only human, we weren’t there and we don’t know what his personal life is like. Men/women cheat everyday and it is only because these people are in the public eye that it comes under such scrutiny. Unfortunately there are also bottom feeding/money hungry vermen out there than live and breath to get these stars in bed so they can “blackmail” as much $$ out of them as possible, before moving onto the next warm body. I love the show and will still watch, but with a bit of sadness in my heart!
since i already like bones it doesn’t effect me at all, but since i didn’t like dave letterman it just made me have another excuse to not like him.
He’s an actor. His personal life is his business. He may be a crappy husband. But it doesn’t stop me from enjoying his role on BONES. His job is to sell me the character of Seeley Booth not David Boreanaz. He’s done a excellent job. I’ll continue to enjoy it regardless of the news. I hope he and his wife can work the marriage out. And good for him to come to the press and admit it. Even if he was being pressed by a former mistress. In the era of post the Tiger Woods scandal; I am sure stars will be a lot more careful. So I say; whether he cheated… I still love him on BONES, His private life is his private life.
