only on DWTS does an animated rose being beaten over Jakes head get a laugh! That is what he gets for crying last week! no men can cry unless they win!
Evan jumping up and down after Erin and Maks’ performance. So cute!
Yes, that is exactly what I would have nominated for Hidden Gem–it was so sweet!
I must second that. I specifically ventured onto these comment boards to post that! That was too adorable.
I third that!! Loved Evan’s jumping!
It kind of struck me how the stars and pros in the Celebriquarium had very enthusiastic reactions to all of the performances except Cheryl & Chad and Derek & Nicole. Some backstage tension perhaps?
I know! I loved Louie’s and Neicy’s expressions after Nicole and Derek’s dance. Priceless.
Hidden Gems: Hammering down on Jake with a rose. Oh, sweet irony.
During the intro with the band, one of the singers appeared to have forgotten the lyrics to the song. I didn’t realize “bah bah da bah bah bah bah” was such a troublesome lyric!
ha…I noticed the singer also…..they are tough lyrics!
I noticed that too. He was hammered into the ballroom floor with a rose like a nail that stumbled a lot. Sometimes DWTS gets it just right.
I got so excited seeing Enthusiastic Chimes Lady that I keep forgetting to look for hidden gems. That, and the one-two-punch of Carrie Ann’s dress and DANCMASTR’s shirt/tie combo has temporarily blinded me.
I know Nicole is a great dancer, but in all of the seasons of DWTS I always appreciate the stars that are not trained and develop the most. It also depends on the votes and Nicole reminds me of Mya last season, it will be who is most likable and right now I am not a fan of Nicole. I am voting for Erin and Chad, the ones who work the hardest and have the biggest challenges.
I couldn’t agree more (by the way, LOVE your name)! Like most people I love a great story, and there is just no story in, “Great dancer performs consistently.” I want to see more of Erin and Maks. They get all my votes this week.
Exactly. She is a great dancer, but she has something that is missing. Like when Erin, Niecy and Chad do well, I get really excited. But when she does well, its like, she should she is a trained dancer.
Greatest dancer?!?! Granted she’s good, but past seasons comments from Carrie Ann–Stacy Keibler “dances better than some of our female pros” and Gilles Marini “it’s difficult to tell who is the star and who is the pro.” Sabrina Bryan’s 1st dance of the season was a cha-cha with “surgical precision footwork” according to Bruno. Laila Ali was such a graceful and strong dancer, Mel B was wonderful and Mya was incredible!! Then there’s all of the winners from each season who were well-deserved “great” dancers. Kelly Monaco went from the bottom with her “funeral face” to winning the 1st season with a perfect freestyle dance–she proved she was great. Carrie Ann’s comment was premature and obviously not correct!
Why do people forget (even this article writer) the best DWTS contestant EVER?! MARIO LOPEZ! He was consistently amazing and sexy and got beat up on by the judges every week. He was AMAZING! THE BEST dancer DWTS has ever had. Way better than Kristy Yamaguchi
Sorry, Mysti–that is the only season I have not seen, but would love to. When are they going to make all of the seasons available on DVD??????????
Niecy was magnificent tonight….y’all need to vote for her! Here mom was so cute giving the standing ovation … she even looked so small next to the 2 tall men, it was a Neicy mom sandwich.
loved the shot in the prepackage where they did shared a bite of food…it was a little Lady and the TrampVanIntensite!
loved the Niecy banter of Kelly Osborne–too funny! “These feet got to learn”
Niecy was so genuinely excited to get a 9–this was refreshing to see one of the celebrities gush–”I can dance, aaahhhh!” and “We gotta keep the party goin–I live to dance!” That was exciting for me, too! Go Thick Girl, Jiggly Parts, Niecy!!
Ooh! How about the subtle disco ball looming in the background of Evan and Anna’s rehearsal package? It seemed to be telling Evan that he needs to sparkle his way to the top of the leaderboard…
I noticed that too! Kind of like a mirrorballus moon!
I was going to mention that one too. It must’ve been radiating some serious mirrorball mojo, since their dance ended up with a 30!
speaking of hidden gems, how about the dark haired guy to the right and behind Tom before the commercial break before Evan danced. He couldn’t have looked more bored.
I noticed him too, but that’s not my nomination.
This guy later was going nuts during one of the team dances. First glowering like a serial killer, then jumping up and down in his seat–cracked me up!
He looked like a very angry Quentin Tarantino
The man to the left of Tom (Tom’s right) not angry Quentin Tarantino, was looking awfully bored, too, but he had a little blond curly headed dude trying to steal his screen time–peek a boo! We saw you, little dude!
Hidden Jem:
I was worried throughout the show that the glittery snake (otherwise known as a Glamaconda) around Brooke’s neck would strangle her.
I noticed the glittery snake necklace too. My first thought was that it looked exactly like the glittery snake that was on Evan’s costume during his Olympic long program when he won the gold medal. Love the Glamaconda name!
haha yes! I think we know who Brooke’s rooting for! (Sorry, Derek. It ain’t you!)
That’s exactly what I thought when I saw that thing around Brooke’s neck. All I could think was “It’s trying to slither away and hide in the generous protection of Brooke’s ample cleavage.” Between the glittering snake and that horrendous zippered dress I couldn’t look away from the train wreck that was her outfit last night. Here’s hoping we get something equally horrendous tonight!
Her dress was absolutely awful!
Train wreck is the word. As bad as Samantha was, at least her outfits were always tasteful.
I kinda sorta think we had an appearance from little Maks when he and Erin were talking to Brooke, just before he started doing calisthenics – then Brooke and Erin discussed the salmon pants! Awkward.
Also, Carrie Ann was kinda rocking the flight of seagulls updo.
Hah, I noticed “little Maks” too and thought I was imagining things. Totally awkward!
Yeah, Little Maks was definitely in effect…Big Maks seemed to notice and put his hands in front of him to cover it up.
It was next to impossible not to take notice of little Maks. I vacillated between mortified and enthralled. I’m mortified to say I was mostly enthralled.
I’m so going to have to go back and watch that again today after work. I can’t believe I didn’t notice that earlier!
You and me both! Can’t believe I missed that too!
I actually thought he was grabbing Erin’s hand to help cover Little Maks, but it turned out that he was awkwardly trying to get her to make a hand-phone
Oh yeah, definitely noticed little Maks. And I think Maks did to, he looked like he was trying to cover it up!
Not very hidden, but head-clubbing roses on Jake at the beginning were hilarious!!!
Hidden Gem….during the group shot of Team Madonna before the break….Derek in the CelebFishbowl giving a thumbs down. C’mon pretty boy, this is a team event, flip that thumb up!
This was my Hidden Gem, too. Derek made me chuckle!
Yeah, this was the best gem of the night! So cute!
Gems- Evan singing along with Celebrate while dancing and Damon’s belt in his practice with Pam. Was it sparkly or was I still blinded by all the other sparkles?
Gem – I like how towards the end of Team GaGa’s number the spotlight hit the camera just right so all we saw on screen were two bright white flashes of light as if we were supposed to be momentarily blinded by their collective hotness.
Noticed that too- I thought it was just me being blinded by all the hot sexy flesh!
Did anyone else think one of the audience members looked a lot like Bill Clinton? It’s not him of course, just a look-alike.
Yes! And I kept thinking, considering how long they’re keeping this guy in the shot, I bet I’m supposed to know who he is, and yet, I’m clueless.
Yes, the camera was showing team Madonna applauding after the Gaga dance and there he was in the forefront. Was that his “Monica” look-alike with him?
