I have long held that George Costanza is the most tragic character in contemporary American art. Perhaps now, thanks to this recut of Seinfeld into a tragic/heartwarming movie, more people will agree with me:
Yes, that’s the music from Shawshank Redemption.
Can anything ever unseat that Shining trailer from back in the day, PopWatchers? I vote no, even if this is pretty terrific…

EPIC!!!!
Funny clip.
However, all it did was make me annoyed all over again that Jason Alexander never won an Emmy during his run on “Seinfeld.”
Whoa, whoa, what??? Never??? Now THAT is the real tragedy.
That was pretty darn convincing. Scary!
George Costanza is the essence of the show. And now I’m annoyed because Ceballos reminded me that Jason Alexander never won an Emmy.
Sorry, whatevs…but as the saying goes, ‘Annoyance loves company.’
Despite that random clip of Susie’s funeral (unless you aren’t really a Seinfeld fan), it was perfect!
one of these days you gotta run a clip du jour on my favorite fake trailer – saving private ryan turned into a comedy. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f0_Vjut7S1U
Great stuff. Thanks. I loved Jason Alexander as George, but the situations he got into were almost too painful to watch. I’m not that masochistic!
Good stuff! Heidi Swedberg who played Susan doesn’t seem to have turned up too much since Seinfeld, although she was in the movie “Breastmen” and there is a scene where her character is topless…but I don’t think it showed her head…so probably a body double?
Considering most of those scenes were the characters pretending to be sincerely moved, this really didn’t take much creativity. Amusing, but a long, long way from epic or classic.
boo, that made it seem like george actually cared about susan.
