Zombies, to quote Joy Division, will tear us apart. Sometimes literally (the better to feast on our warm human flesh), and sometimes more figuratively, as in the trailer for horror master George A. Romero’s latest flick, Survival of the Dead. The film appears to take place on a beautiful island “off the coast of Delaware,” where the residents all speak with campy Irish accents, for some reason. These residents all belong to two families that have undergone an epic schism due to their differing takes on the undead menace: One side wants to re-kill ‘em all, the other one seems to be keeping afflicted nephews and nieces in some sort of zombie nursery in hopes of an eventual cure. Sounds like a situation that will end well for all involved.
Watch the Survival of the Dead trailer after the jump, then let us know if it’s whet your appetite.

Yawn. Romero, can you give it a rest with the zombies already? Nobody cares anymore. (And I say this as a zombie movie fan).
i agree!
They’re making a film version of Pride and Prejudice and Zombies with Natalie Portman…as an Austen fan I’m going to have to skip that one.
The problem isn’t zombies, the problem is Romero. He’s actually a terrible director. He peaked with the original Dawn of the Dead. Diary of the Dead was the biggest steaming turd I’ve ever paid money to see (fortunately a rental).
a zombie on horseback??
Give me a break
Yeah, that made me LOL.
Then again, maybe the horse is a zombie and they’re in cahoots. (I mean, why not?) Or maybe Romero is setting the stage for NASCAR of the Dead, in which zombies have evolved to the point where they can drive.
That’s not so far fetched. My postman is a zombie and he usually manages to get the mail sorted properly a good seventy percent of the time.
Right now an executive is trying to get NASCAR of the
Dead made. Seriously, with all of those crazy NASCAR fans think about all the money it could make!
“Right now an executive is trying to get NASCAR of the
Dead made.”
…in 3D!
Just remember kiddies. Unlike basketball, football or baseball Nascar takes two balls to play.
LOST- The Zombie Years
“Sounds like a situation that will end well for all involved.”
Brilliant!
Romero started going downhill with Land of the Dead. This shows few signs of a ‘return to form’
Seriously I love zombie movies but this smart zombie stuff is out of hand. What’s next zombies working call centers for 10 cents an hour? I love the genre but Romero has completely taken the fun out of it. Cant wait for ‘Zombieland 2′!!
Sorry to disagree, but this one looks awesome! Great cinematography.
As a zombie fan for over forty years the past two George Romero
films didn’t scare me at all. This
film does look like its scary..
Re: “Romero started going downhill with Land of the Dead.”
LOL.
Never heard of “Bruiser” or “The Dark Half”, eh?
nope
In my opinion, the Best “Dead” movie post Dawn of the Dead was the Remake of Dawn Of The Dead. I agree that Romero has lost his touch. I stopped going to see these after Land Of the Dead. Will rent it from Netflix and not expect much…
Mann keep coming with the Zombies love the movies and the gore whether they are funny or seriuous you are doing a hella of job!!!!!
Being a Romero fan, as well as having a lot of family from the Pittsburgh area, I’d really like to see this film…However, I now live in Los Angeles, and I’m stunned I can’t find this film playing anywhere in the L.A. Basin! Where do I have to drive to see this movie?
