Maybe I need to get my head out of the most glittery gutter in all the land, but does anyone else think the strapping hunk Betty White “married” in her first Saturday Night Live promo looks exactly like Dancing With the Stars pro Damian Whitewood? Like a blurry-faced, possibly taller version of him? I doubt NBC would stand for the cross-promotion, but I also wouldn’t put it past Betty White to hunt for dust-hungry prey Down Undah. I like SNL and Betty is cool, but the buzz is too much. It’s almost bound to be a disappointment. The writing will likely fail again.
Absolutely agree – the hype is too much, but it can be a success IF
1. There is a Mama’s Family skit – Vint and Eunice return!
2. Minimize Kirsten Wiig and give the other women on the show a chance, Wiig has been wildly overused – and please NO GILLY!!

She’s so great! But what on earth is she doing on “Hot in Cleveland,” that upcoming nightmare on TVLand?
I agree, that show looks atrocious yet the one clip I saw with Betty White in it, she didn’t look very good in it either.
Words cannot express my excitement for this SNL episode. As if Betty White weren’t enough, they added Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, Maya Rudolph, Rachel Dratch, Ana Gasteyer, and Molly Shannon. I think they’re trying to kill me with collective Awesomeness.

Betty White is amazing as a Golden Girl because of the purity, but what is she thinking when she signed up for SNL. But I guess the skit shows her as some one who is into the current hollywood trend.
I trying to keep my expectations low so I won’t be disappointed, but it’s hard when Tina, Amy, Maya, Ana, Molly and especially Rachel are also in the episode!
Im hoping the last few weeks (duds imo) are an indication that they are saving their good material for this episode….and not that the writing has gone down hill completely.
SNL is a horrible show. I loved it when it first started around 1975 with Goldie Hawn and Arte
That was Laugh-In, not SNL. “Very interesting, but stupid.”
Not to mention that Laugh In was off the air by 1973.
VERY excited about seeing Ana. Too bad they are not reuniting Molly, Ana, and Cheri – the best threesome of women the show ever had.
I’m really excited for this episode of SNL. I just hope the writers have some good material. Everyone knows the writing has been pretty bad this year. Even the most talented comedian could have trouble elevating the poor material. Betty White is hilarious, and I’m sure even with bad writing she can at least elevate the show into a decent episode. But I want more than just a decent episode. I really hope the writing staff can get it together for just this one episode and deliver the goods to help Betty shine the way we all know she can.
And the addition of some of SNL’s former female all-stars like Tina, Amy, Molly, Ana, Rachel, and Maya can only make this better (as long as they don’t divert too much attention away from Betty).
Also, I’m a little sad they weren’t able to add Cheri Oteri to the mix. Cheri, Molly, and Ana were a great trio of SNL women in the late 90s and, in my opinion, helped make SNL hilarious again. It would have been nice to see the three of them back together.

I love Betty White! She look cute. I am big fan of her and her late husband game show host, Allen Ludden on Password. They both look so cute together on the show until he passed away in 1981. I am looking forward to watch her on SNL, May 8th. Hope the writers will write some good materials for her.
